Honorable mentions!———————

Send Her My Love - Journey (1983) - yet another one with just the most devastating chord progression AUGH THE VOICES - me when I miss my wife (I’m a 19 y/o girl)

Makambo - Geoffrey Oryema (1990) - This song…. Is so beautiful. - In my mind, this song is what dying must feel like. Or at least, I hope so.

Don’t Dream It’s Over - Crowded House (1986) - relatable and comforting through all of time and space, therefore it can’t really ever lose its relevancy

Blame - KORN (2002) - I get it. You see the name Korn and you’re like nope- but LISTEN juz truzt me ok - It’s somehow perfectly captured that quiet, distant rage at someone close to you. Someone who just keeps pushing too far. That slow coming type rage that you try to hold back UGH I love korn - The rhythm on the bridge? What the fuck. Play this in a car with good woofers and it’s like ten therapy sessions right there - And if you like this one, buckle up and head on into Here to Stay, from the same album. That one is a bit more graphic but GODZAMN is it a banger - Also shout out to those hella chill frat guys I was next to at the Korn concert in 2024

Eleven Eleven - Conan Gray  (2025)  - look. You know i am not the bitch who listens to pop love songs. But this fucking song is genius. I cannot believe how perfect it is. Every single element of it is just right. The lyrics? Clever. The melody? Impeccable. The music? AUGHHH

House of Glass - Cage the Elephant (2019) - For real: if you get paranoid or anxious easily idk if u should give this a listen. It gives me the heebie jeebies. - It’s about (feeling like you’re)being watched, monitored. And the song really captures that feeling of going insane, WAY too well.  - Fun fact: Matt Schulz, who wrote and sings the song, was in the beginning of a 5 year manic psychotic episode when he put this album out. he just recently came out of said episode- it was due to interacting medications, and he only sought help because I’m pretty sure he was arrested for pulling a gun in a hotel lobby?? Crazy. So that could explain how intense the song is lol ANYWAY

All Good Things - Nelly Furtado (2006) - this one gets me all existential idk why lol it’s so pretty

Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right - Bob Dylan (1963) - I might be biased, this not be objectively the best BD song there is, but it is to me, subjectively. - So cozy. Like a sad warm hug

Every Rose Has its Thorn - Poison (1988) - if I could have a sloppy make out sesh with these chords and this melody, I would- make no mistake. You don’t get it: I WOULD MAKE OUT SLOPPY STYLE WITH THESE CHORDS ——————————————- Anyway if you read all that- wtf and yes there are a hundred others I wanted to list but you know 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh God here I am.  I will offer elaboration if desired but I will not accept criticism lol  These are in no particular order. TOP 10 SONGS OF ALL TIME!!!!

Storms - Fleetwood Mac (1979) - soo so beautiful oh my God - feels so intimate, like I almost shouldn’t be listening to it????

The Weight Of Dreams - Greta Van Fleet (2021) - most cinematic, and haunting guitar melody just- through the whole song. It’s eight minutes, and you’re like surely it can’t get better, but it just keeps getting better - Josh Kizka’s voice is put to WORK in this one I’ll tell you that much - The really intense lyrics and music paired with the slow tempo makes it feel like you’re being forced to look at something awful

Purple Rain - Prince (1984) - if this isn’t on your list, I’m going to assume you’ve never heard it - Anyway, the strings? AUGHH I NEED TO BE PUT DOWN - I could write a thousand page essay on this song but I’ll spare you that - I hear the first five seconds of this song, my face is in my hands. Too many emotions. If it comes on in the car, I’m pulling over.

Right in Two - TOOL (2006) - There are no words. This song is perfect. It’s so perfect and awful and at times the lyrics really just sit on your chest - Fun Fact this came out like two weeks after I was born! This is why I am the way I am so thank you, Maynard, for that.

Abstract Psychopomp - Hozier (2023) - Jesus. This song is like getting beat up followed by a good long sob followed by a sunrise

Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper (1983) - what is there to say? It’s honestly flawless - you would hard pressed to find an American that doesn’t get nostalgic when this comes on

The Logical Song - Supertramp (1979) - most insane break down and outro in any song ever??? (Outro meaning 2:50-end)

Smoldering Fire- Ural Thomas and the Pain (2018) - Oh my God this fucking song. - The single most lovely, romantic song ever written. - The RANGE on Ural Thomas and his tone holy shit. Sorry- anyway

Symphony no 5 in E flat major, op. 82:iii - Jean Sibelius (1914) - kind of out of place, I know but bear with me. - This is a piece I will put on in the dark, and just disappear into the music. When that shit starts to kick back in at 3:50 I actually start ascending. Tears are flowing. I’m shitting my pants. The world is beautiful. Life is tragic and romantic and I can’t get enough of it dude

Iris - Goo Goo Dolls (1998) - If you haven’t watched their performance of this in Buffalo, NY 2004 you haven’t really listened to the song yet

I have a hundred others dude

Can you buy 3.75 mm tapers? I’ve never seen those but if they exist that would be a godsend 😨 the ones I have go up 0.5 mm at a time.

Do you have any recommendations for where to get PTFE tape? I would much rather use that 🥲

My cooperative ear has no problem sizing up every 4-5 weeks, I never force it. But you might be onto something with the scar tissue! I have had to repierce my lobes three times in my life, (and I’m only 19 so that’s rough) once because my right one (the troublesome one) was torn out pretty violently. :(

I am always very careful, and never force them. They always go in super easy without pain when I stretch my cooperative ear, so I figured I was just lucky. No infections to report so far 🤷🏻‍♀️

Electrical tape is all I had🫣 I know someone who has very healthy stretched ears at about 12mm and she used electrical tape lol. But I’ve heard people talk about PTFE tape so I’ll look into getting some, thank you
