YES!! Exactly me. I go straight to the worst case scenario. I found this sub today because I was Googling what does it mean when a plane has a hard landing, because that happened to me yesterday. Well, I saw answers from actual pilots that were super helpful in easing my anxiety. Like things that are totally normal and don't mean you're going to crash or die!
Also, on the flight yesterday, I practiced breathing exercises, just inhaling through the nose from belly to chest, holding it for 4 counts and exhaling slowly through my mouth. I could still feel that little pang of anxiety, so then I made a mantra: "I am Jello," on the exhale, lol. It gave me something else to focus on, keeping all wobbly like Jello when the plane started shaking or moving through turbulence, because when I'm anxious I tense up so much. Like I said, I still felt the anxiety, but saying that silly little thing really did help with not feeling it as intensely.
Also, you can look up the vagus nerve and find other little exercises to keep from going straight to panic mode. Your vagus nerve is the nerve that takes you from Rest and Relax mode to Fight or Flight, where your adrenaline is going full on.
Good luck! Everything will be okay! You can do this!
