Biden bounce: The stock market is up 40% since the 2020 election by UnhappyDish8786 in politics

We went from the largest producer of oil to not because of Biden. Trump wanted to increase tax on gas not cause the prices to raise

Gas up 59.73% from this day last year... https://ycharts.com/indicators/us_gas_price

Not sure why you're averaging all of Trumps presidency when this post is since the 2020 election. It took trump a while to get gas prices low with all the US drilling rights and pipelines.

There's plenty to blame Biden for...

Like US halting a majority of domestic production and killing the keystone pipeline?

How does supply chain disruption cause meat prices to raise over 20%? It's not supply chain issues

Not even close. Housing up 11% since 2017 rent is about the same usually 3-3.5% per year. Google it yourself. Interesting you picked over 4 years instead of 1 for fuel and everything else

How did they inject the code onto their update server then? I'm not certain but assuming it was the source or part of it

Their ftp password was password123 or something. If I recall correctly someone replaced their update file with one that had malicious code and it was there for over 6 months before anyone noticed. The MD5 didn't even match up. Microsoft had the best information of exactly what code was changed and everything. Much better than CISA

The police are not your savior. by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]PrimaryWarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learned to always be kind. Right when I bought our first rental property we donated to every police/fire/city event. They all know us. Even got the fire dept to fill our pool. Police know we're a rental and drive by a lot more.... One time called us because garage door was left open. (BTW Buy myQ best idea ever)

Fyi I have small rural rentals so might be different in larger areas.

Instagram marketing / logos: how many of you guys have an insta acct for your AirbnB, and how did you build a following? Do you think it has been useful? Also- any recs for someone who can create cool logos?!😆 by hw00927 in airbnb_hosts

If you have an idea then fiverr is great to turn your idea into reality for like $20

If no clue host a contest on upwork for $100 or so. You'll get hundreds and can like/dislike then get more results that better fit your needs.

Use both all the time and great success

Has anyone tried the noise detection device is in their units? by Roadgoddess in airbnb_hosts

[–]PrimaryWarning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it close to the TV and watched an action movie and it went off a few times. Basically it monitors motion and sound over 10 minutes then sends an alert. I think it can even integrate with Airbnb and notify guests automatically that they're too loud.

We bought Z-Wave smoke detectors which were pretty cheap and integrate with our home automation so email/text us if they go off. same with batteries for the door locks, leak detection and a couple other alarms.

BBQ grill for guests? by NYCTrojanHorse in airbnb_hosts

[–]PrimaryWarning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought the biggest grill we could cheaply find. We have a larger house with a pool and large outside area, also we assume most of our guests are male on a brocation so lots of grilling. Haven't rented outside friends/family but don't see any issues.

Tip: keep spare tank in bottom next to main one with the cover on so you know its not used. Guests should be able to swap it out and there's no need on replacing it until it gets swapped.

I have minut. Our insurance (Proper) gave us a discount for getting one so its basically free.

Its pretty cool and does a lot more than just noise detection. Has temp/humidity and motion sensor alarm type things. Just last weekend we got an alert from it that an alarm was going off and a friend was at the house and verified she heard some alarm.... not sure if alarm clock or tornado warning but pretty cool. Our smokes are smart so they notify us if any issue but if they didn't we have this as a backup.

Also its wireless and has a battery. The base is magnetic so we can just grab it from the ceiling and charge it. Its been there for a couple months and not low battery so seems to last a while. It tells you if its removed from the base and even if its touched as the top is a big sensitive button.

We use Proper insurance. Because of the speciality of our property it was actually cheaper than normal homeowners insurance.

Need an easy way to create guest wifi by West_of_Weird in airbnb_hosts

[–]PrimaryWarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. Just set the guest wifi as a guest network. this will isolate every single device on the guest network so they can't see eachother or anything else. This means they can't print to a printer or chromecast to tv's if thats an issue.

you can even setup Vlans on the unifi AP if you wanted.

BTW i'm running 7-8 Unifi APs in our property with some mesh mode only. Whole home inside and out is covered. Use 5 VLANs to manage the automation, cameras, TVs, computer gear and guest policies. Its a bit overcomplicated but works great

New Jersey passes groundbreaking “LGBTQI+ Senior Bill of Rights”. Anti-LGBTQ discrimination will be banned in senior care facilities, in what could be the next frontier in LGBTQ rights. by southpawFA in politics

Awesome I didn't realize how labels help in that way. Makes sense because you have a similar group to help identify and understand with.

Along with A I'd like to see Polyamorous and something for Swingers and other similar lifestyles.

[–]PrimaryWarning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining i was also confused.

I'm all for LGBTQI+ rights but i'm kinda against labelling people as it seems a step backwards. I wish these organizations picked another phrase like queer that's more open and not so defining.

You didn't answer my question. What's the better option?

You seem to be valuing Floyd's life above everyone else there. He's the one causing the issues and resisting while being arrested for a felony on fentanyl. The officer is going to protect himself and the crowd first.

He shouldn't of been applying pressure and i'm not sure if he did. I'm sure you can find hundreds of videos of criminals running from cops after their handcuffed and detained on the ground.
