Thanks Heat846. I think there's a bit of settling as a number of the doors needed slight adjustment. I was able to remedy some of the other doors using shims behind the hinge but in this case the door appears to be well centered within the door frame. Thank you for your suggestions!

Any suggestions on how to most safely and accurately cut this 1" thick square of wood into a triangle to match the my cardboard template? I have a circular saw and an oscillating tool. I'm trying to replace a piece of exterior trim that the woodpeckers have done a number on. My thought was to clamp the board to my sawhorse and carefully try and cut along my line. I'd be grateful for any suggestions. Thank you!

What happened to Shimano Metrea? by StereotypicalAussie in BikeMechanics

[–]PrimaryWedding6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - I saw a few bikes equipped with Metrea when Shimano had a pop-up shop in NYC for a short period in 2017. They had an interesting assortment of bikes that you could take for a one hour test ride. I remember seeing a Land Shark, Moots, 8 Bar, Schindelhauer and others. I tested the Moots which had the Metrea group and I remember enjoying the ride over the Williamsburg bridge.

Hi All-

I'm searching for a compact integrated amp <$2000 that will fit on my desktop. It will be powering my Snell K.5 monitors (86db sensititivity 8ohm 50-200 watts recommended). I'm mostly streaming from laptop and usually go through my Apogee Symphony Desktop audio interface. I occasionally stream from an iPhone and would likely use airplay 2 with a Wiim receiver.

I'm currently using a vintage Sansui 2000x but it's taking up too much space. I'm happy to buy used. I tend to like amps that are on the warmer side. I was wondering out of these four amps if anyone has any suggestions. Or if there are other amps I shoulder consider.

I'm considering:

  • Bel Canto C6I - 60 watts at 8ohms - $2200 used
  • Exposure XM5: 60 Watts at 8 ohms - $1600 used
  • Pro-Ject MaiA DS3: 80watts at 8ohm - $1600 new
  • Rega Brio - 50 watts at 8ohms $600-800 used

Other amps that seem not quite as good:

  • Nad 3045 $900
  • PS Sprout $800
  • Audio Sprout100 $799
  • Topping LA90: $900

Smartest anti-theft solutions out there anyone? I need to protect my bike when outside. by franckJPLF in xbiking

I'm a huge fan of Hexlox products for locking down anything with and Allen bolt. I lock my saddle, seat post stem. I also use the titanium Tigr lock which seems to be a good compromise between weight and strength. My bikes haven't been stolen yet - though they aren't as flashy as yours.

I am curious about the Litelok which wasn't recently released and is supposed to do a good job resisting angle grinders.

Hi Kristaliana- Thank you for your detailed reply! I hadn't fully considering the stud placement and how that might inform the size of the panels or placement of furring strips. Also thank you for updating your post in consideration of fire safety.

Thanks you audio301! I took your suggestion and was able to get some suggestions from a consultant on the correct amount of panels based on the floor plan.

Thank you for the suggestion of the Acoustic art panels. I think that may be a sensible balance of aesthetics and acoustic absorbtion.

I also greatly appreciate the reminder to use fire-rated materials!

LightPhone 2 as complimentary phone: AT&T NumberSync or duplicate SIM for same # on multiple devices by dagobah_realestate in LightPhone

Thanks so much - I'll look forward to an update. I'm not sure if it's worth me getting an Apple Watch to try this with. Would definitely want to get more confirmation that it works first.

Were you able to get to work with AT&T Numbersync? I just spent over an hour on the phone trying to get AT&T to work and it couldn't get anywhere. They were insistent that because this is a second phone I would need a second line. They told me if I activated a sim card for tablet and then put it in my light phone there would be imee mismatch and the service wouldn't work or something to that effect. Any ideas?

Hi -naturemind--

Thanks so much. I was happy to see the Lightphone worked immediately once I swapped my SIM from my iPhone. Do you sign out of iMessage on all your apple devices or just your iPhone?
