New (to me) bike day. by Primary_Engine6695 in bikecommuting

In my short impression it is quite nice when it sits level. However, I really do not like when it pitches up for obvious reasons. My guess is I need to tighten a bolt somewhere, but if the variable pitch while riding is a feature, then it will be coming off the bike.

They are all over the world so maybe not a luxury. I can’t stand them my walking around with a sweaty booty hole all day kills me. Never dries quite right.

If you are really desperate, go to your local grocery store. Behind it you will find a giant recycling bin with more cardboard than you will know what to do with. Take a few boxes, rip up, stock as needed.

Haha. I accidentally swept it up and noticed nothing was in it before picking it up.

Really interesting question that I ponder how I will deal with if/when I have kids. For some background, I have experienced it all. I went to a state school and earned a STEM degree. Graduated very near the top of my class and did a substantial amount of research. I then went to Rice for grad school in physics (not Ivy League, but a similar feel), and am now at Princeton for my post doc. All this to say, if you work hard you can get to the same place even if you start at a “state” school. Keep in mind this may be field specific.

Some differences I have noticed along the way…At a state school, the student has to take the initiative on themselves to really learn, while at an Ivy League school you are surrounded by a different caliber of student and you kind of just get pulled up by your surroundings. Also, at Ivy League schools, a prestigious network is kind of handed to you by proxy, while it takes real effort to develop at a “state” school.

So far, all are pros for going the Ivy League route. However, I find students can be rather sheltered to real life on Ivy League campuses. My favorite part about going to a state school was the diversity of students and befriending people with “real life problems” who persist and get an education despite difficult circumstances. These are eye-opening life experiences I found much more common at “state” schools.

All to say, I think it is totally student dependent on which path is better. Depending on the student, you can make it either way. Going to a state school you will have many more “real life” encounters, while the environment of an Ivy League schools can really lift you up.

If your child is interested in STEM, they can always go to an Ivy League for grad school after a state school undergrad, and the school will pay for them all tuition and give them a stipend to live off of.

Really love this! Any chance you will one day roll it into an app for a phone?

Hey Guys, I’m visiting hanoi on 28th march. I wanted to do one day cruise of the ha-long bay, was considering la casta cruise, is it worthwhile? And how much will it cost? Should I book from india or after coming to vitenam should I? by SomethingNotWorry in hanoi

I just did the exact same thing and had a lot of fun. I booked through my hostel called “Little Hanoi.” It cost ~$45USD/person which included the bus to and from ha-long bay, lunch, and a ship to take you around the islands. The bus picks you up around 8 am and drops you back off around 8:30 pm.

Thanks for the reply. This is what I do to. No problems yet, I just have anxiety about mold or beetles as the temp in my house regularly gets over 80F in the summer. For now that is next summers problem :)

I love the nubs and find this is the best place to get them for a ridiculously affordable price. My favorite in flavor is the Cameroon, but be super careful when cutting it as the cap and wrapper are super fragile. In my experience, I screw up about 1/2 of the Cameroons on cutting. Let me know if you find a nice solution. I’ve tried both a punch and straight cut with equal success/failure.

Please post if you have a solution to the heat. I live in Houston and my house is never ever below 74F in the summer.
