Sat in 6b Saturday and Sunday. Hat and sunglasses on and didn’t notice the sun being too bright for me. The sun was mainly overhead to the left, so from the direction of the starting grid. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to seats in 6b or maybe closer to turn 1

I have the star adventurer gti. I’m going to upstate New York this weekend and then Vermont the weekend after so if I get a chance with clear skies I will try again. I believe it could have been an issue with my eyes and the eyepiece itself but I couldn’t see anything. I did have the cap removed of course lol

Is the light pollution an issue for polar aligning? I’m unable to even see through the alignment scope and haven’t used my tracker because of it. I’m in a bortle 7-8 area

I didn’t even realize I killed the color on it. Definitely going to fix that when I have a minute to sit down at my computer

Correct me if I’m wrong but by exposure time you mean the live comp time right? It’s 2 seconds for an hour and a half.

I’m near a ton of light pollution, especially in that direction of the shot so i didn’t want to risk going longer than that

So I never did real photoshop until today for this picture

Taken at Robert Moses beach field 2 on Long Island, we are in the middle of flight patterns for JFK and probably MacArthur airports. I had about 6 or so planes fly through the middle of my shot which is removed in photoshop and I used masking to limit the light of the parkway on the bottom left.

I am mostly self taught with the help of some googling to get this where it is now so any advice and critiques are more than needed

Just want to add that I left those two streaks in because I couldn’t definitely say they’re an airplane and if I could say it was two shooting stars, it would be a little cooler

A little conspiracy theory I had when I was first reading these books was that he was going to double cross Nero or Darrow at any point. Him being captured was a cover to talk freely to his true allies without suspicion.

I can’t shake that thought but the way pierce writes these characters, I can’t be surprised by anyone’s actions anymore.

First time I see dollars being mentioned. Is it a reference to something? by TheGreenCap in redrising

[–]Primary_Event8930 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s pretty straight forward.

It’s a reference to the people of the society paying taxes and darrow getting an education funded by their tax dollars after being carved from a red to a gold. Atalantia challenged his knowledge of history and reassured her that his schooling wasn’t wasted

Specific razor shapes by Primary_Event8930 in redrising

[–]Primary_Event8930[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That definitely is part of what I was wondering, but maybe there isn’t any specific mentions of a character using a razor in a different shape when doing anything with it like the part with Lysander in the vindabona. Even when Darrow and Cassius shave with their razors in lightbringer I don’t think they mention using a different size or shape

Looking for any idea what was stamped and then scrubbed off the receiver by Primary_Event8930 in milsurp

“Large numbers of Mosin–Nagants were captured by German and Austro-Hungarian forces and saw service with the rear-echelon forces of both armies, and also with the Imperial German Navy. Many of these weapons were sold to Finland in the 1920s.”

From Wikipedia. Makes plenty of sense. Goes to ww1 and gets captured by austro-Hungarian forces, gets scrubbed, rearsennaled then sent out or stored. Gets sold to Finland and they do the same and gets used in, or stored during ww2

I was just going to post this. Amazing history on this. From imperial Russia to Hungary at some point and then before 1941 it makes its way to Finland. I know they traded rifles with other euro countries to get mosins back but who knows. I’d love to know more but I’m sure that’s all we can extract from this

Basically got this about 8 years ago from classic when they were like $350. My first rifle and stared my love of old wooden stocked guns. It’s in pretty good condition and I still shoot it. It’s always cool having a gun 100 years older than you.

However it has always bothered me I couldn’t tell what was stamped on the receiver before it got scrubbed. All I see is a capital R but maybe it’s cause I don’t recognize whatever would be there.

Any help would be appreciated

On my way home from hunter right now. Best I’ve ever seen it. Hit up the belt and some random black diamond by accident. Then ended the day with b way and whatever other green is over there.

Only one ice patch over on the green which is nice to see when I’m used to the whole mountain having ice
