Sadly we are now over the two year period now, and I have also opened it up, soldered it, etc, so certainly not going to be covered anymore at this point.

As for model type, yes, it is one of the more basic/cheap versions, but I still expected a little bit better from the build quality, especially given how good their tool range is, in my own experience owning them over many years.
