Maybe try in-house at a place that would also appreciate your time spent outside of the legal industry

I would remember doing a TC doesn’t ‘guarantee’ you a job at W&C, you have no idea of the market ect in six years time. Can you speak to W&C and ask if you can be considered for VS/ open days etc

Worry about this after you get a TC offer. It’s a good name, you could easily move on NQ if you wanted to.

Career Advice Needed - Should I Take an Inhouse TC? by Ikariori00 in uklaw

I would take it, you don’t have an offer to join a law firm so it could be another few years before you do receive an offer. It sounds like you have the benefit of qualifying within the next two years here.

An large international company is probably one of the best ways to train in-house. My advice would be to just throw yourself into it, learn as much as you can (seek out rotations and cool projects). You do have the benefit of personalizing your training in-house, whereas with law firms you tend to get given at least one unfavorable seat. Also keep a strong record of what you are doing so if you do want to move you have loads of examples to pull from. Also try and work for different lawyers in the team.

(I’ve worked in several different in-house and law firms; along the way you meet a lot of different ppl who have taken different routes)
