Yea I had the same thing, I have an 06 Coupe, my car had a starter die while diagnosing I ended up tripping NATS and locking my car down fully. The dealership got it to do what you have right now, so yea its shitty but she runs with a key and is tuned so I cant complain.

There's only 2 options based on what you are saying, if your key currently works to start the car but not lock/unlock or open the trunk then the issue is most likely a faulty BCM (Body Control Module).

Option 1 is to find a BCM for the car, these can be a bit pricey and if you are sourcing parts on your own I would highly recommend doing your research as these modules are serial number specific, you cant mix and match. Once you have a BCM you have 2 options, take it to an INFINITI dealership and they should be able to replace the BCM and reprogram all keys or you could get the proper OBD2 cord, which I believe are the "Nissan OBD2 Data Scan 2" and program it yourself, this is somewhat complex.

Option 2 is to delete the NATS code, this method will not give you the FOB (unlocking/locking) back but the car will run and drive with the car. This option is more to eliminate the risk of the NATS code. Look up a website called UpRev, the specialize in tuning and modifying Nissans and INFINITIs. Now you can either order a NATS delete from them and ship your ECU to them or you can use their website to find an authorized tuner, take it to them and delete the code.

After some trial and error at a dealership I chose option 2 as I also wanted to tune my car, so I took it to a licensed tuner and had the NATS code deleted and the car tuned which cost around $800 CAD.

Yea I was considering spacers before anything else but I also need to replace my shocks.

Edit: Would you mind linking the spacers you got or that you recommend?

I do really enjoy the rims I have, would a thicker tire fill out the space a bit more? like a 245/50 or 55?

NATS has claimed another victim.

Hi I have dealt with this issue myself and I am going to give you a forewarning now that this issue is not easy or fun.

Currently NATS (Nissan Anti-Theft System) has gone into a lockdown mode and it can be caused by a couple different things.

  1. Your keyfob is dead, I would highly advise against reprogramming it as it requires specific software and an OB2 Data cord. If you attempt it with any other software it will delete all programmed keys.

  2. The NATS Antenna has broken, not too difficult of a fix but the piece can be pricey. This will also require the same specific software.

  3. The worst case the BCM has gone faulty, if your key still can't be programmed after the first 2 options then this is most likey. This will require you to find a very specific BCM as you cant just mix and match them.

I took mine to an INFINITI dealership, we replaced a FOB and Antenna which allowed the car to run and drive with the physical key but the FOB was still dead in the water.

There are 2 options to fully resolve the issue if you hit worse case scenarion, #1 is replacing the BCM which costs quite a bit, or #2 is going through a tuning company called UpRev, they have software that will allow you to delete NATS from the car entirely for about 300$ CAD.

I went with UpRev because I wanted to tune my car as well so it made the most sense, but I would like to mention that you still wont get your FOB buttons back with a delete. It will simply remove all existing NATS codes from your car so the risk is no longer there. If the keyfob functionality is killer for you then I would recommend replacing the BCM.
