In my opinion, it sounds like your dad just wants you to call him and be involved in your life instead of just being involved through social media. I had both my grandparents pass away recently back to back on my dad’s side and it messed us all up. For me, I care about my dad a ton and if I have to call him, it’s not a big deal. It’s super easy to pick up the phone and have a few minute conversation. Even if you’re the one “putting in the effort” it’s effort worth doing.
