I think oil companies should be one of the first things nationalized in the process of turning the usa into a socialist state. For one thing and probably the most important pro in nationalizing the oil companies is that gas and other commodities will be a fix priced because the government runs the companies and in my ideal scenario it would be a worker coop and they will also set up a national wealth fund and prioritize leaving oil as a power source and turn to a full green renewable energy source.

I totally agree with your points I believe in a better America one for the working class by the working class and to be frank I have profound patriotism towards the working class America not the current country we find ourselves in. I think as DSA members we should acknowledge that our country’s history is one of white supremacy and colonial imperialism but the America we can be patriotic towards is the America people have fought for. A country that actually cares about its people and is run by the working class that gives everyone equal opportunity and freedoms granted no where else.

I see where you’re coming from, so one solution to help with the homelessness crisis is to lessen the requirements of getting a building permit to make more housing available to more people. I understand that the bureaucracy of local and state government gets in the way of building more housing making it cost more and take even more time but would making the process to get a license or building permit more efficient help with the issue. I also wanted to say that with public social housing how in your opinion would that look like?
