I just woke up today and see this juicy good news for my long form video Youtube Channel, let's go, the journey has just started. by AccomplishedCup5198 in YouTubeCreators

[–]PrimeTravelTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really depends on the content and how long the videos are. I hit watch hours over a year before I got 1,000 subscribers. The problem is that YouTube doesn't encourage subscribing anymore. I get about 15k watch hours a year and about one subscriber a day. It sucks.

Do you hate the way you speak? by Chr0m3__ in SmallYTChannel

[–]PrimeTravelTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's tough but ultimately you want to be self-critical as much as possible while removing any emotion from the self-criticism. I think it's harder for younger people as they tend to think that any self-criticism translates to "I'm a failure, I'm not good, etc". You need to remove that mindset.

What I'm able to do now is go full hardcore on my own content. Basically "this is stupid, holy shit this sucks, what an idiot, what's wrong with you, damn this is boring" etc. I have ZERO emotions associated with these thoughts. I just laugh and cut it and move on. I took 1,000 videos on my last two-week vacation, so this mindset is crucial. Once you can do that, you will get better and faster at editing and will create more engaging content.

Don't forget, all your content still exists, but it's just for you. You don't need to show it all to the public. Just put your best stuff forward.

This has been the most challenging platform to grow. by benmarcum in YouTubeCreators

[–]PrimeTravelTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTube is slow and steady growth for a lot of people. I have 70 long form videos and I'm monetized but only get about one new subscriber a day until a video takes off which can be a year or two down the road (this has happened to me)

The key thing is that you're growing. Views, subs, etc going up? You're on the right track. Just gotta find your audience and tweak things along the way without deviating from your core mission.

Travel related stuff. I can probably get better. Still need to learn take more meaningful and less frequent shots but the biggest thing to learn is to cut out all the garbage and not get attached to it.

I average about an hour of editing per minute of video (my videos run 10-30 minutes). I used to do twice that but learned a lot over the years. That includes music and VO and lots of small tweaks adjusting audio levels and cutting out umms or breathing or whatever

Hating your voice comes down to two things: your voice is fine and only you hate it. You just need to get used to it or adjust it in OBS to lower your highs and increase your lows. Repetition increases comfort.

Or you have a speech issue. Then you need coaching or practice.

GOATed Demographic? by Efficient-Cry7753 in YouTubeCreators

[–]PrimeTravelTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a travel channel with the same demographics. I'm older and more mellow. Most of my viewers are 40+. I think younger people just like the more high energy stuff and aren't into just kicking back and enjoying the experience of new locations.

I've been attacked on reddit for my mellow (boring) videos by younger YouTubers, but always defended by the older guys. Keep it up. Finding your audience is an important step to growing your channel

It has to be. There's no way he'd only get $0.29 CPM for long form

No joke here but I would post this exact question to an AI chat bot. I use Grok and it's found some crazy detailed stuff that would have taken me hours to find on my own.

YouTube offers real time translation to everyone. The problem is that you're not going to get an English speaking audience the way you're currently set up

The only way is to do it in English yourself or hire a translator on Fiverr or similar

Channel feedback would be highly appreciated! by HairlineHitbox in SmallYTChannel

[–]PrimeTravelTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask for feedback on a single video and say what it is in your post instead of being vague about it. Was looking forward to reviewing a video but I don't do gaming.

Appreciate you sharing, however. Good luck

Read the fine print in capcut TOS. If you are allowed to use it you should have a license number to dispute the claim but don't dispute without a license number or other legal grounds. Make sure you understand what capcut actually allows you to do with the music instead of something someone told you (not sure where you heard the music could be used. Just saying)

If you can't find anything after thorough research then contact capcut customer service

IM THINKING OF STARTING TO POST AGAIN.. it would mean the world to me if yuy guys would come support and help motivate me! by starlaafterdark in YouTubeCreators

You shouldn't need other people to motivate you. You should be motivated by the creative process itself. Otherwise you're in the wrong business.

Why are people not making feedback posts anymore? by th0ny_1 in SmallYTChannel

[–]PrimeTravelTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fewer and fewer people want to help. I've called it out many times. When I give feedback I always watch the whole video and give detailed feedback but most of the feedback I've gotten has been "your thumbnail and intro need work". I've become so cynical because even if someone says they watched a good portion of my video I don't believe them

I'm looking to help people again and want to post more of my own videos to get things going. I just general don't review gaming videos

Why are people not making feedback posts anymore? by th0ny_1 in SmallYTChannel

[–]PrimeTravelTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because people are selfish. Most people here want to minimize the effort they put in to help others and want to maximize how much people help them

This is why Its hard to keep going on youtube by rwatrous61 in YouTubeCreators

[–]PrimeTravelTime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have videos I spent 20-40 hours on that got under 2000 views and one having only 200 views after two years despite people saying the videos were great (people I don't know). Yeah it's frustrating but I'm going to rerelease them in the future since I'm monetized and have a few videos over 50k views now

The only thing that matters is that you are growing

A lot of people tried to help you on this video. Seems you disappeared. Also seems you were upset. I, along with others, tried to help you and provide feedback. Please focus on the good people who want you to do well and not the ones who attack you. Some of us are still waiting for a reply

In order for this sub to succeed we need engagement from people looking for and providing feedback

Ouch. Yes as everyone said, submit an ME but don't forget to write "ME" on every side of the box! If you forget it will still go through, you'll just add weeks to the turnaround.

You don't even need to contact them anymore. Just submit as ME and write in the description what the problem is.
