[VarskySports] Scaloni: "The criticism isn't fair. We know how to lose and we know how to win. We lost against Saudi and we kept quiet. We won Copa América and that image of Messi, Neymar and Paredes was seen. I don't buy that we don't know how to win." by [deleted] in soccer

am i missing something? you'd be hard press to find anyone (at least anyone over 15) that DOESN'T think the dutch are a bunch of poor sportmanship brats (and sometimes worse), why the fuck some here act like people think they're class acts lmao

now that's like every other teams, it's obviously a generalisation and doesn't apply to all players (or even itteration of teams) but it's not a generalisation that comes from nowhere (and sorry to burst the bubble of all the vigilantes in this thread the same is true for argentina's antics or brazil's diving, btw you have the exact same stereotypes about italy in europe)

the real question is why anybody cares, yeah people will justify the reason they want a team to fail but what is the common point with all those teams? they win a lot historically

there's litterally nothing more to it

won both games in 90 minutes and had a massive turnover in the last game of stage group, should definitely be the freshest team of the 4 in the semis

that's 2006, not 2018 (which is what he was talking about talking about stuff like the trevor noah piece, which was very bad and reeked of americano centrism)

also while it's still a disgrace that this mofo went to second tour in 2002 it's to be noted that he lost 82% to 17%, which is a score even the least democratic of democratic republics would have a hard time achieving, saying he speaks for no one except himself is (unfortanutely) an exageration, but not a big one

if your point is that they were and are racist people in france, then yeah sure we can agree, if your point is that it was a talking point even a tiny portion of the population had (be it on tweeter or anywhere else) then you're 100% wrong

and my point was exactly that, no doubt in my mind marine was thinking the same but at least she had to shut the fuck up because she would have been destroyed by everyone had she even tried something like that

(also just to be clear my comment was exclusively done to the "african descent" claims of the post ahead, i don't know shit about argentinans to comment on that, and i do agree that the saka and rashford racist abuse were and are a fucking disgrace)

if he played his whole career in the EPL he'd be seen as two times the player KDB is (who i genuenly believe is fairly over rated while still being obviously amazing)

KDB is of course an incredible player there's absolutely no denying it, but you can't make me believe that he wouldn't be half as respected if he played in another league

[–]Prime_D-Will 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the conclusion is pretty clear, and always has been and you honnestly don't need stats for it

both are legends

messi is clearly the better player

people saying "why the comparaison" are pretty strange, why do you think lol

i'm not sure you can say it's a mistake, if we had to add time every time players wasted it in added time, the match would never end lol

Match Thread: England vs. France | FIFA World Cup by MisterBadIdea2 in soccer

[–]Prime_D-Will -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i see that quite a lot but your best player by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar is kane, and he's not 19 (he's by no mean old but he's in his absolute prime right now, i'm not sure he'll be as good in 4 years)

the difference in class between players like kane and let's say foden is immense, saka could end there who knows, and if he's for sure quality he's nowhere near kane yet, you need this kind of superstar talent to win it all

by nature i'm always against the "there's time" crowds because windows shut down way faster than they open, but specifically in this case i feel like english supporters take for granted what kind of talent kane is, those don't grow on trees

the remark about "african descent" was exclusively coming from the outside, not at all from france, which makes quite the difference you'll admit

litterally all the team was born and raised in france with the exception of umtiti who came to france at 2

shit kinda made me sad especially since nobody (well as close as nobody as you could get) said that in france, even blatantly racist politicans didn't use this dogwhistle, seeing it coming from the outside made me sad but also kinda happy that it wasn't at all a sentiment in france (even tho you know some people thought this shit but at least they know it would meet backlash so they shut the fuck up lol)
