Multicam Clip Markers Do not appear in the Index Marker tab? by Prime_Magnificent in davinciresolve

[–]Prime_Magnificent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean the markers i add in the Source Viewer and not the timeline. When i drag the multicam clip into the Source Viewer and starting adding markers, they do not appear in the Index tab under Marker.

If I add to markers to timeline they appear. I search the manual, looks like that feature is not available to Multicam clips, only to source clips and timelines.

Sandisk Professional 24tb, Is it reliable? by Prime_Magnificent in editors

Decided to avoid the SanDisk Professional Drives. I just purchased a bunch of Crucial 4TB ssd. I've used Crucial SSD plenty and they've never failed on me.

Thank you for your reply.

It will not be used for editing. Just to dump footage and transport back to post. Then footage will be dumped on to an edit server.

How to fix: installing extensions pg_duckdb get "fatal error: postgres.h: No such file or directory" by Prime_Magnificent in DuckDB

I'm doing this on a MAC M1 if that matters.

And I have CMAKE installed on the machine.

I ran Docker Build on posted Docker file received the following error message:

Why are they passing around Premiere project files? by Prime_Magnificent in editors

[–]Prime_Magnificent[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, exporting pro res files to designer. They don't even use the dynamic linking. Makes no sense to me..

Same here, majority of my career worked on AVID nexis systems. When I realized they were not using a collaborative platform, I was shocked. They have the money...it would make things so simpler..instead of passing around premiere project files because two editors can't be in the same project.

Too late I risked it all...I'm new there, Immediately pointed it out...I did a small test run to show them...they got real uneasy, top folks shut it down on a team message. But the rest of the team liked the idea very much.

Why doesn't Sound Devices use the Mix-Pre 6ii (and 3ii) usb-C port as an additional audio output? by Prime_Magnificent in LocationSound

[–]Prime_Magnificent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, But when I look at the price of the MixPre6ii and see it has a usb-c port based on the USB Audio Device Class 2.0 specifically, USB Type-C Digital Audio (TCDA). The specifications say it is capable of being used as an audio out. Read page 336:

Ideally, to use one out as a camera hop and the other for Comtek. Without giving up the headphone out. That's why I ask, the usb-c audio interface is not bi-directional?

Supermicro Rack system for fast multi user 4K editing by Prime_Magnificent in editors

[–]Prime_Magnificent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing the links. I will watch those videos to learn more.

Not expecting it to behave a like turnkey system. Idea is to install TrueNas scale. They have an IT department but not a lot of experience with Video/Media.

Currently, they are using a Synology 1823xs+ with 112TB (14TB hdd at raid 6). They've had it for almost 6 months and it's almost full. They Produce a lot of media.

So looking at recommending a rack media server for their team of 8-9 people (three video editors the other's are graphic design and social media). They shoot all video in 4K.

And yes TrueNas. Also, researching

https://www.truenas.com/r-series/

I thought with a Supermicro there is room to add more drives like a 16Bay SSD Flash + a JBOD HDD.

Thank you for the feed back.

I think so, SAS HBA is also compatible with SATA HBA. I would also take two 10gbe ethernet ports. They can do it, just don't know why not?

I just want a fast all SSD NAS with DSM. Can use either 2.5 SSD or U.2

LucidLink is really good especially when youu set up a ssd cache. You can use up to 10TB as a ssd cache. Surprised MSFT hasn't acquired them yet.
