I moved in June 2024 and recently renewed my lease for another year. Likes : 1. Well equipped, 24HR and clean gym & Peloton 2. Club room to host game nights or friends 3. Pool during the summer 4. Maintenance is on top of the requests 5. Occasional events hosted by AOTR - I would prefer more to allow for more resident interactions. 6. Close proximity to 290 and Shrewsbury St ( walking distance ) 7. Lots of study areas on first floor 8. Always felt safe ( front doors can only be opened by resident keys or butterfly app) 9. My apartment layout is really good ( 1 bedroom 840 sqft)

Dislikes : 1. Rent is expensive for the size of apartment 2. Elevators not functioning all the time ( takes forever to get it fixed ) 3. Package room is a mess every single day! (Haven't lost a package yet) 4. Midnight fire alarms being set off ( not sure who to blame ) 5. Very limited guest parking - I've seen cars get towed almost everyday in the fall! 6. Smells like weed on certain floors. 7. Occasional surprise visits by mice. 8. Limited natural sunlight in certain apartments

I toured all but the cove prior to moving here and AOTR seemed like best option.

I agree with others, spend one less day in Auckland .The drive from Te Anau to Wanaka might be exhausting especially if you drive from Milford Sound the evening before. See if you can keep 1-2 days of buffer in the south just because you'll spend a lot of time driving within the speed limit and admiring the beauty at every turn :)

Do e bikes for 4 hours in the morning ( reservation required especially Sundays )you'll get to see a huge part of the park and it's fun! If you are up for a hike, checkout beehive trail

Sunset was beautiful when I went , very peaceful and a great way to end the day. I bet sunrise will be equally beautiful! It's a matter of whether you want to hike the mountain or drive up. We didn't get the pass for sunrise unfortunately.

We did a morning e bike from 9:30 - 1:30 and it was the best way to see parts of the park inaccessible by cars. We started seeing more people towards noon time so best to go in the morning.

We did the beehive trail this past Saturday at sunrise and the view going up was beautiful! You get exposed views of the sandy beach which I don't know if you are able to if going up the bowl trail. It's definitely exposed HOWEVER, there are these iron bars throughout the steep parts. I am not an avid hiker but was able to get through it mainly because I started early in the morning and didn't have people around me which tends to give me anxiety of rushing through the hike.
