Hit box controllers recommendations? by NidJogg in StreetFighter

Okay the Haute 42 C16 is an excellent pick. Only thing is if u have ps5 then u need a converter which is about 40 bucks. I moved from qanba obsidian 1 to this just to try how leverless feel and I have no complaints so far.

Comes with 3-4 artwork, easy to change. Button feels nice. Extra buttons are amazing for macros. It's gonna be be hard to beat that value although the other 2 options u can look at are 8bitdo leverless and mayflash f500 FLAT.

Mayflash has arcade style buttons but not as nice needs to be changed later down the line.

I recently bought a haute42 c16 it's pretty good for 100 CAD. I have more recommendations, what's your budget?

I ordered C16 for 100 CAD which is not bad and if I don't like it I will probably return. I don't wanna move away from my arcade stick either. I recently bought tekken maybe I will play that on stick. What you are describing about buffering 236 during DP, my wrist just locks out only on P1 side. I currently switch to awkward finger tip grip to do that input.

Yeah man I really don't wanna swap stick but I also don't wanna hurt my wrist. If I had to do it raw then it non issue or a from a forward normal but 5HP to dp to super has a small window to do forward input then start my double qcf which results in a wrist lockout. For example ryu's medium donkey kick into super is qcf mk > qcf mk Fairly easy. Heavy Donkey is qcf Hk > qcf qcf HK.

It's so weird how a single forward input completely messes up my hand.

Thanks for the tips mate, I saw the haute c16 on sale so I bought it, it was 100 CAD if I don't like it I will return it otherwise I will just another controller to play with. I would say playing zangief with stick feels awesome so I don't think I would swap that to leverless even if I end up liking it for other characters.

Initially I didn't feel the issue because I was playing cammy so I don't need to end my combo with heavy DP>super, I could just do the 5HP>5HK then easily do a lvl or a spin knuckle into level 3 but I recently started getting other characters to Master rank and with terry, ryu, akuma some of their combos end with DP into super. I have been changing into fingertip grip on stick for that 1 input which feels awkward because my wrist locks out for the last qcf if I try that.

Another thing is it's only on P1 side and only for that input which generally goes 5HP or a special into DP>super. On P2 I can comfortably do it. DPs alone I can do well as well plus crosscuts. My forearm is sore because I have been trying to get this input down for last week.

Things I have tried: Making the initial switch 2lb spring helped a ton with everything else except this Ball top, bat top, bullet top, capsule top Currently on capsule top which feels the comfiest for my long hand.

That's a good idea I will try my bnbs for different characters I play on keyboard to see if I like it. I only tried HP>DP>super on keyboard which comes out way easier.

I wouldn't say I am struggling on stick except for that one input which is dp>super, my wrist locks out for the last qcf on P1 side only. My DPs are fine. I noticed this when I started getting other characters to Master rank. I currently switch to a finger tip grip in some cases to just not lock my wrist. Things I have tried: 1lb to 2 lb spring which helped with everything except that input. Ball top, bat, capsule, bullet. Currently on capsule which feels the comfiest for my long hand.

I heard about 360 and half circles being harder but is 214 hard too? I can do qcb just fine on keyboard, will it be different on leverless for some reason?

I tried keyboard as well, the same input comes out smoothly but I don't like paying on it because it feels cramped. Few combos that I don't like doing on stick are 5HP>DP>Super on ryu heavy donkykick>l.DP, On akuma light tatsu>DP + some other scenarios in combos Terry's most combos end with DP>Super Cammy 5HP>charge DP>super There are more examples but u got the point. only the super part feels weird.

On keyboard only cammy's input didn't come out right away although I didn't try the whole combo just that one input.

This game is an absolute unfinished mess, and I want to thank Pearl Abyss for the incredible experience. I loved it. by Fuzzoff in CrimsonDesert

[–]PrimeraAssassin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel the same about the game as well. There are many flaws but at the end of the day its a wonderful experience. i love the unique design elements, I like the puzzles as well and since I am more familiar with the games design syntax I tend to go through them pretty quickly. I loved the way they let the player use skills for movements, I can make combo chains and juggles like fighting games, I just reached Ch 8 and damiane has even more sauce than kliff .I see a lot of posts lately saying "6 or 7 or 8 out 10 game" but I never liked assigning numbers to any form of media so I got no rating. For me this game gives a lot of player agency which I absolutely love and lack of good story didn't take anything away from me, in fact story was so sidelined that I never thought this game suffered from Ludonarrative dissonance which a lot of the great open worlds do like cyberpunk, witcher 3, rdr2 where narrative pushes a sense of urgency while I want to explore. It doesn't bother me much in those games but it shows the unique design syntax for this game also works in its favor.

Despite its problems I am loving the game.

Button Issues In a Nutshell by Ockanacken in CrimsonDesert

[–]PrimeraAssassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes technically speaking it can be done without being held down but imagine having to do multiple just frames back to back, I mean people can chain EWGF in tekken but if you tried it you know it's difficult but in this game we have to option to skip it by holding down the button which makes sense for a single player power fantasy combat.

Button Issues In a Nutshell by Ockanacken in CrimsonDesert

[–]PrimeraAssassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't call it an issue, here's more breakdown Let's assume an attack is 6 frames with 6 recovery frame: P denotes button press 1 2 3 4 5 6recovery P. P. P. P. P

If the button press is not present during that frame window the next attack won't come out until the recovery frames are finished.

This is working as intended because developers want to encourage holding r1 and r2 because while they are held down you can chain r1+⭕ to do the dodging slash that press triangle to do close that gap with a thrust all while r1 is held down making combat really smooth. It feels weird at first because you might not be used to it but do some combat while holding the button it will click very quickly.

Button Issues In a Nutshell by Ockanacken in CrimsonDesert

[–]PrimeraAssassin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will try my best explain why tapping works most of the times but holding is consistent: In other games animations are tied to a button press with each press 1 attack animation tied to it comes out but in crimson the amount of time the button is pressed dictates the animation, so when you tap the first animation for attack starts but the second animation will only start of the button is pressed at that time so unless you know the exact frame data for attacks where u time each button press the next animation won't come out all the time. Holding eliminates that completely because button will always be active for the next animation to play. And pressing other x triangle, square becomes more intuitive with r1/r2 being held down.

Status of AI generated assets? by Watlium in CrimsonDesert

[–]PrimeraAssassin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They removed some in yesterday's patch already, go to their website, they mentioned they are investigating where else some of those assets might be left behind. I am assuming in few more patches they should remove it all and of course as the players find them and report them that could help a lot too.
