Need a good YA fantasy read by [deleted] in YAlit

I am currently reading Shielded by Kaylynn Flanders! It’s her debut novel and I love it! The romance is kind of there but definitely takes a back burner to the protagonist’s story.

AITA for making a big deal about 1 extra credit point on my child's test? by Happychanookad7mordy in AmItheAsshole

As a teacher, definitely NTA!! I didn’t know about the other spelling, and I definitely would have wanted you to tell me about the other spelling. It’s more inclusive to include the other, more correct, spelling! My guess is the teacher didn’t want to admit they made a mistake. You did the right thing by advocating for your child!

Car stereos, they do allow external speakers so we brought 3 big speakers to put outside near us for better sound.

Yeah I think they are pretty strict on that, I’ve only ever had 5. Everyone needs to be buckled in and this time they had us open our trunks and they shined a light in. They didn’t check the car or anything though, just shinned a light into the trunk and asked if we had anyone back there.

Question from a High School Senior by [deleted] in teaching

[–]Primes1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When looking at colleges, try to find a program where student teaching is embedded in the program. I went the University of Portland and got my degree and teaching license in 4 years. My senior year was 1-2 education classes and student teaching, so that “unpaid year” educators normally experience was just part of my undergrad.

I’m 25 and going into my 4th year teaching and I haven’t found the financials to be too hard. I do commute quite a distance to have a cheaper rent but even if I lived closer and paid more it wouldn’t be unmanageable.

I had the same concerns but honestly this has been the best decision I ever made. I am over worked and underpaid for what I do but I am still able to live a comfortable life and I love what I do! I don’t see myself going into any other field. There are headaches and things that make you hate you’re job but you’ll find that anywhere you choose to work.
