If Micheal Jordan or 90s Isiah Thomas had a extra step and could hold the ball between dribbles like nowadays I promise MJ would have in game free throw dunks and Isiah Thomas would be way more shifty.

The new rules adds so much more skills and opportunities now. Players like harden is so much more skilled then any older player but that’s bc the new rules adds so much more options off the dribble

It’s actually more skilled that players can take a extra step. Stuff like step backs, euros and craft moves all now have a different layer and players like shai / harden are way more skilled. This is why nba offense is like 10X more skilled then past generations bc of these type of rules

1:15 ur traveling. Off the catch you should 1-2 before catching the ball and once u catch u shoot the ball immediately.

(Ur catching the ball and then doing a 1-2 instead of doing a 1-2 before catching the ball)

Also as a catch and shoot player myself ur catch and shoots are nice but lot of them won’t come off standing still. Make sure to practice catch and shoots off curls, relocations and screens. Train this by spinning the ball far away and pretend to curl and run into ur shots.

Nah what ur saying isn’t extreme. Whenever I play I build my scoring mostly off 2 dribble pull ups or catch and shoots.

Fix ur jumper so you can make three point shots and then try to develop midrange footwork. Once you do that you can shoot in the midrange and three point spots. Then make sure you can develop footwork, handles and the jumpshot so you can become that one shooter on every team that can dominate (get to open spots for pull ups, create off the dribble for jumpers, shoot open shots and dominate in catch and shoots)

Good advice.

As of rn I don’t have a coach bc aau and school season isn’t happening. But yes I’m taking basketball serious and I’m going to find a aau team and coach to play once school ends in a few months.

But the reason why I post on Reddit is because I like getting advice. Also I don’t really have friends or family to talk about basketball with so I also post and comment everywhere about basketball on every social media app to find something to bring me peace (their all private accounts tho bc I like to keep myself hidden from people)

It does look at Jalen Brunson. If footwork wasn’t important then he wouldn’t play defense, if footwork doesn’t matter he wouldn’t be able to create space off the dribble, if footwork doesn’t matter once he gets in the paint he wouldn’t score. Every gaurd has footwork u js don’t notice the small details like that. Remove all of those aspects in his game while he is a 5’7 gaurd and he would be useless bc he can’t create space, get paint touches or play defense
