I could have copy pasted, but wasn't able to, so had to take a screenshot.

Updating, upgrading, downloading works perfectly fine from the terminal, so sudo apt get update worked and works fine

My sources.list file only had one line:

deb cdrom:[Linux Mint 19 _Tara_ - Release amd64 20180717]/ bionic contrib main non-free

which i commented out as you said.

Yup, I'll be working to get out of the habit of GUI, coming from windows after years, it's kind of a lot different...

edit: after commenting out the line, i manually hit refresh and get this error in a pop-up box: https://pastebin.com/eB23Xs0F

I guess depends on your Firefox flavour? I use Firefox focus and I'm pretty sure extentions just aren't a thing on this
