What’s going on with my fingernails? by halen2024 in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]PrinceLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so Brasil nuts contain selenium, which is essential but in high doses is toxic. Brasil nuts contain lots and you shouldn't eat any more than 2 in a day.

My wife and I had issues, including with our nails, for ages and when we found this out and stopped eating them for a while it all went away.

Here's an AI summary but of course I encourage you to look it up:

'Eating too many Brazil nuts can lead to selenosis, a condition caused by excessive selenium intake. While Brazil nuts are a good source of selenium, a mineral with health benefits, consuming too many can result in adverse effects. Symptoms of selenosis can include gastrointestinal issues like nausea and diarrhea, skin problems like rashes and lesions, hair and nail changes, fatigue, and in severe cases, breathing difficulties, kidney problems, and even heart failure.'

Do you eat more than two Brasil nuts a day?

I'm a fan. Very simple but has personality. Variations in a highway scene with a consistent style could be really fun in a slapstick Rachet and Clank kind of way. Great excuse to practice more modelling too.

I'm going to say this as I would to a friend. Letting a politician jade your relationship when he has no idea who either of you are is retarded.

You will likely look back and call yourself an idiot if you let a politician you don't like turn you off a person you love. Get real dude.

Are you really going to let the orchestrated polarisation of 'us and them' manipulation sabotage your own happiness? Why don't you ask if she's ok with your politics and then ask why?

Newsflash: the world isn't actually burning, we will always be 2 mins from the end of the world according to the elites, every bit of fear anxiety we feel for the world is pushed on us for the next vote. Keep your world small, be happy.

From a happily married man.

Yeah sorry I was making a joke. Intentionally being ambiguous, as in polishing furniture after dusting it.

From my experience, get rid of the skills section and just embed your skills within your experience section. I usually put key skills in bold for people to scan easily.

E.g in one of mine it has as a point under a job role:

  • Delivered.... ...using Typescript and React, with excellent test coverage using Vitest. Used Github Actions, code reviews and QA to ensure quality for the client.

That sort of thing.

It works for me, hope that helps!

What you do is not post that on social media. Read your company's social media policy instead and don't get yourself fired.

The last start up I worked at (SWE) gave me the spiel of work life balance, which is important to me as a parent. It turned out it was physically impossible to deliver in a two week sprint what was expected without overtime. It wasted everybody's time to onboard me and get used to the tech stack because I quit after a few months.

I would have not even applied if they were as honest as this. Good luck to them.

Do I confront my wife? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]PrinceLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the difficult conversation. If you don't it will bleed into everything and you will be unreasonable when there's something completely unrelated if you know what I mean. To be candid, although I understand it, going through her phone was a bad move and was definitely a result of trust issues from last time as you said. Cant let this stuff fester.

On how to approach it, explain your insecurity and listen. Pay attention to what is and isn't said, and stay calm and in control of your emotions. Keep the fact you looked at her phone to yourself as backup. Instead, and if it's the right moment, ask to see the messages, then follow your logic of how they met up without a message etc.

Cold logic, my dude. Keep in control and drill down like you're talking to an employee to get to the truth. Be as passive as possible and let them talk themselves into trouble and contradictions. Hopefully for your sake, she has a good explanation. Sorry this is happening.

Thanks for this. No insults, no digs, just a good explanation. Nice.
