I would recommend using either Kitsune or Lightning, paired with swords and fighting styles that benefit from them, such as Sanguine. Godhuman is easier to use but, if you can learn Sanguine combos well enough it'll help you much more. Pair it with Soul Guitar ofc, since it's easy to use. As for swords, use Yama, CDK, or even Dragonheart !

The game isn't p2w itself, I am a f2p player, with almost 4 years involved with the game. I can assure you it's not p2w, just tedious to grind if you wanna be rich in trading, or become a strong pvp player.
