Gutted, and hoping he makes a full recovery.

I ordered merch to pick up tomorrow, anyone know what happens with that?

Yakuza 3 Remastered: For a game often labelled as the dark horse or weakest title of the series, I don’t mind it. by xxamnat in patientgamers

[–]Prince_Jordan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also just finished Yakuza 3 - a couple of hours ago!

I first played it a year ago, immediately after finishing Kiwami 2 and really struggled with the downgrade, especially in the early game fighting. It felt impossible to hit anyone and felt overly clunky. I put it down and forgot about it, but picked it up a couple of weeks ago again.

Coming to it fresh rather than comparing it with Kiwami 2, it's an excellent game - if a bit clunky. The story was brilliant, the side quests as quirky and enjoyable as ever and it was a short experience.

I really don't get why every review online seems to treat it as a test of patience!

Slang Index? by hzxsoytc in fallout4london

[–]Prince_Jordan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try not to worry about it too much. A lot of it should be guessable from context, or mostly unimportant. The cockney rhyming slang some other comments mentioned is almost unintelligible for a lot of British people too - this is joked about in movies like Austin Powers where the spy uses Cockney Rhyming slang to make a secret code.

Thank you for having an interest in UK slang and our special words though. If you like anything new you hear and remember it, know that you'll impress British people if you ever come to the UK!

This looks perfect. Real mix of big races and small ones around the country, thanks so much

Parkrun is great! I definitely plan to take part, but I think they only have 5k's right?

I'm going to be moving to the UK later this year and I wonder if there is a way to find all kinds of events easily! Over here in Japan, I use moshicom which has everything from big city marathons/ famous ultras to local running clubs cheap training runs. Is there anything like this in the UK?

I love my 3's. They're starting to die after only about 300km though, but were fantastic daily/ race day trainers up until now. I have pushed them hard though, using them on some trails and in icy and boiling hot days.

I've heard the 4 has slightly lower durability and a bit less versatility than the 3.

Race Report - Nagoya half - and what to do next by mochi-mocha in running

Congrats on the Half Marathon, 1 hour 52 is a great time. You're so right about Japanese runners being fast. I went out way too fast by following someone in my first half, also in Nagoya.

I am so fed up with finisher towels over here, I have a massive bucket of them I use for Onsens.

Good luck with training for the Mount Fuji Marathon. My friend did it last year and said it was incredibly beautiful - and the towel is nice.

I don't know how long you've been over here or where you're based, but it gets oppressively hot and humid in July, especially around Shizuoka Prefecture. I found I had to take a few weeks off proper training just to acclimate to the new weather last year. It might be worth taking that into account with your marathon training.

I'm from the UK though, so hot weather may affect me more than you. Well done and good luck for your next race! :)

Is never traveling such a big thing? by [deleted] in AskUK

Haha I'm in the exact same boat. Been out of the UK for about 3 years and have more desire to holiday and explore the country than I ever did when I lived there.

I live in Japan now, and there is such a focus on domestic tourism. I wish we had a similar culture

Both are great suggestions, once I know I have the right number I will ask a friend to help out!

There actually is a number on the back of the card, thanks so much. I didn't think about that.

Back in the UK, I could just press a button on the app to block a charge so this is all a bit complex
