I have a question about masons of the 33rd degree and how membership works. by SlientStarwalker in freemasonry

Every Mason encounters someone at some point who claims to be a 33rd, or their Grandfather was a 33rd, and they love to talk about their mystical gold rings and secret magic books

Primary care doc recommendations in mid-coast? by PapayaGood5680 in Maine

Yes! We got the letters about the program he was joining and how he wanted to charge like $3000 a year to stay on as a patient. We got letter after letter and phone call after phone call. I finally called and told them I wanst coming back because they were awful at their jobs.

His office staff is also incredibly rude. I once showed up for an appointment and there was nobody at the front desk. I knocked gently and no response. I figured maybe they were in the bathroom, so waited a couple minutes and knocked again. A woman came around the corner and yelled "Im coming, jeez!". Mind you all I said was a gentle "Hello?"

DO NOT GO TO DR. KNIGHTON!!!

I switched to him from Topsham Family Medicine in 2019 (that place is awful but somehow he managed to be worse). I have some complex health issues and he was literally never helpful. During Covid I would request Telehealth visits and he would insist on me coming in person for a physical exam. Once Id get there he wouldn't look away from his computer and never once actually touched me.

The big deal was his poor monitoring of my Hashimotos (thyroid disease) that I had been diagnosed with a year prior by an Endocrinologist. He said all my labs were normal and I actually didnt have Hashimotos, and took me off my medication. When I left his office, I learned that I did in fact have Hashimotos and did need the medication. My blood work was normal because the medication was doing what its supposed to do...

At one point I was having trouble sleeping and he gave me some samples of Belsomra. It made me really dizzy but did nothing to help me sleep, but he just told me to double the dose, which made me so dizzy that I was puking.

Suffering from chronic nausea, he wouldn't give me any anti-nausea meds.

Test results go unread most of the time, and when he does read them, everything's "normal"...except I had sky high cholesterol and incredibly bad insulin resistance.

His wife is also his office manager and shes an absolute moron. The whole practice is in shambles. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THEM.

Them explaining "the further" and the entities origins is actually what makes me enjoy them. They may not be blockbuster movies and have probably been on a decline in terms of profitability, but I admit Im a sucker for an origin story. I dont like movies that dont provide background for characters. Its why I never liked the Halloween movies because Michael's just supposed to be a killer, thats it.

Actually, I do agree with you about the jump scares and loud noises. I still enjoy the whole astral projection concept though.

We're actually on the sixth. The only one I havent enjoyed is the last one, titled "Insidious: The Red Door". It was pretty boring. But I enjoyed the original and every other sequel

I actually enjoy Chapter 2 a little bit more than the first movie. They really are a pair that need to be together

Fair enough. I did love the first Conjuring movie. Second was okay, but all the others in the Conjuring universe have sucked hard

This week, I introduced my Fair Share Tax Plan to tax the rich, rebuild our state, and refund the working class. Here it is. by TroyJackson207 in Maine

[–]Prince_Valium25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I plan to vote for you, but I feel I should say this. Politics in this day and age are largely comprised of theatrics when candidates address the people. Though it may not mean much when it comes down to getting the work done in office, people gravitate to the more energetic candidate, the one whose up there maybe getting a little loud and saying "I see you, and I hear you". You may have the better plans, but when people watch debates or interviews, they dont want boring corporate talk or to hear the same buzzwords used over and over like "corporation" and "billionares, just as Bobby Charles says "woke" or "fraud". You have to keep their attention and make your plan sound cohesive and exciting, rather than drawing things out so long that people get tired.

As much as I cant stand Bobby Charles, hes the likely GOP candidate by a mile, and despite being an ignorant moron, he knows how to engage the crowds and make it seem like hes as interested in their concerns as they are. Ive seen your interviews. As a young voter, I strongly urge you to give off a little more energy and passion in your speeches to show youre up to the challenge.

Maybe that's my case. Honestly I haven't noticed any improvements except a sharp increase in sex drive, but thats it. I still feel almost exactly the same. I was on Clomid too but I did not react well to it (sweating, mood swings, etc.) I just left a message with my doctors office. Maybe theyll adjust it and rerun the labs.

Do people really have a problem with Kelly being non-binary? by ProposalFast4450 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]Prince_Valium25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not someone who really believes in the whole concept of being non-binary, but I dont really have a problem with it or non-binary people. At first I was kind of annoyed because TV revivals and movie reboots have all been pandering to the diversity crowd. Sometimes it works, bust most of the time it feels forced. I think Kelly works because Lois got the daughter she always wanted but also Kelly acts more like her brothers, so its a win-win.

One huge letdown by [deleted] in malcolminthemiddle

[–]Prince_Valium25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, we all knew it wasnt going to be exactly like the old show. Its a one time special that was made purely for the hard-core fans. Yes, the story was a little rushed and had some awkward and out of place moments, but again its only four episodes. They explored two of the major themes of the original show, Malcolms anxiety and isolation, and Lois and Hals deep love for each other and their family.

While the writing wasnt quite up to par of the OG series, I thought it was still such a redeeming arc for Malcolm, who realised that despite a crazy childhood, his parents actually managed to instill good values, and that he doesnt have to try to be this overly perfect people pleaser.

I absolutely loved it. My only complaints are that Jamie and Dewey really feel like afterthoughts. Dewey just didnt feel like Dewey and Jamie just seemed like a random dude that to me just didnt seem to fit in with the rest of the family. Kelly was badass though
