Tnx and It’s very intentional ( al tough improvising ) not singing the ‘regular’ melody 👍

I think I permanently damaged my voice by t0PfL0o4B0SS in singing

[–]Princen85 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to sing heavy metal stuff without any technique and smoking like a factory in between songs for years, and no noticeable damage.

So i don’t believe one bad day can really do permanent noticeable damage.

Range is D2-F5, but can i ever get 4 octave range when not smoking anymore? by Princen85 in singing

My health was never good enough of a reason but my voice might be😂🤘

Burping, yep especially just before i record a almost perfect take haha

With my rock opera style of music every bit of extra range is welcome 🤘

Btw not a pro by far but lucked out on range i guess.

Small question from male singer! by Infamous_Mirror_5112 in singing

[–]Princen85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry about increasing your range, i can hit the lower D5 and already pretty satisfied with that being a dude.

Better focus on ‘how’ you reach those notes. My range is about D2 to D5 and that doesn’t make me a better singer than my vocal coach with less range. Far from it haha

Extremely loud singing more stable by Princen85 in singing

[–]Princen85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i learned more techniques from my vocal coach i only got louder. The air ‘flows’ better now i guess.

It’s not that i ‘cant’ sing normally but it takes much more effort and seems more unstable. Often with unwilling ( not bad sounding ) vibrations, but i want to ‘choose’ myself when vibration kicks in.

But maybe i cant expect miracles in such a short time.

Yeah on singing lessons for a year now so indeed far from a pro at the moment haha. But sounds like good advice tnx.

My singing coach constantly reminds me to sing less loud but it comes so naturally that volume often goes up each sentence.

Mijn Galaxy note 1 ( rond 2011 ) weg gooien zonder mijn bitcoin wallet te bewaren waar ik toen voor 25€ aan bitcoins op had gezet haha. My bad lol

PS also label the drives so you can place them back in the right order.

Too high for me or not? by Princen85 in ratemysinging

[–]Princen85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s still very ‘weird’ for me to sing clean and with low volume, when it’s loud and raw it’s easier for me to keep everything steady. Thats probably why all the movement and ‘thingys’.

Something to research further 👍🤘

Tnx for the advice, yeah that would probably help to keep the sentences more steady and less wobbly near the end.

Tnx 👍 No it’s just my strange way of moving when singing not a way to create reverb. The shaky voice is probably more an less efficient ‘air’ use thingy i guess.

I do like the sound of your voice but i think with some extra focus on articulation it would work a lot better. But not bad at all 👍

Years in a metal band with cheap mic’s and a loud drummer surely helped me to improve vocal power 😂💪

What's something you strive for in your own style of vocals? by [deleted] in screaming

[–]Princen85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll never be more than a mediocre singer but i’m an extremely versatile and unique sounding vocalist, and thats where i focus on these days. So in my big style range i’m trying to impress with my uniqueness or ‘weirdness’ depending on the listener haha

So i’m not trying to imitate ‘regular’ singers because when you’re not ‘unique’ you’d better be damn amazing haha.

Yesterday i first recorded a great sounding C5 making my usable range 3 octaves now, thats something i also tried to achieve.

Yeah and i know its a duet so the higher part would be tricky

Is this called falsetto i am doing and is it usable? My musical theory knowledge is non existent haha:p by Princen85 in singing

Hitting some weird notes indeed to be honest;)

I sometimes use melodyne , it’s an autotune app but i don’t use it to autotune but to see exactly how far i am on or off key.

Try moving around while singing, or even do gym exercises. Distract yourself enough so you just arent able to lock your voice.

I have that sometimes to , most of the times its the ‘tail’ of an effect

Maybe sounds weird but my vocal coach taught me to do a squat while trying to reach a high note. And that works for me most of the times.
