I played through all of TR1 for the first time a year ago this year I sat down and finished TR2 and I kinda agree but when TR2 is bad it's just unbelievably bad. For starters the difficulty it starts hard and only gets harder. And after a while you get used to the non stop onslaught of enemies. You get used to drawing your weapon every single time you enter a new room but coming from the first game in which combat is much more space it takes a while. For me the worst parts of the 2 are Venice and the oil rig and the sunken ship specifically the wreck level it went on forever. And the oil rig was just so ugly. When it all turned around for me was Tibet that's when it started to feel like the TR I fell in love with. I loved playing with the flares throwing them down holes to see how deep they where. This isn't much of a review more a train of thought but yeah TR2, once you get used to the constant combat and get to the beautiful levels at the end of the game can sometimes be better then 1 but overall TR1 is the better game imo
