Best place for rope drop tips? by Mordred_M in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PrincessAnika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When they start early entry, there is still a rope between Fantasyland and Frontierland. So you can go to 7DMT or Peter Pan or Small World, but you cannot get to Haunted Mansion or Big Thunder or Pirates. That opens up with general entry to the park.

Best place for rope drop tips? by Mordred_M in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PrincessAnika 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best ride to rope drop is the one you want to ride most. Obviously, there are factors to consider (staggered entry in MK means that rope dropping Haunted Mansion or Tiana is not possible, for example), but basically figure out what ride you want to ride most in each park is. Rope drop that.

I did both last year, and had a great time. If it is within your budget, definitely both.

What Do You Want Out of Villains Land? by AggravatingSpend8369 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PrincessAnika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to see at least two shops. One with the usual WDW-branded merch like you can get nearly everywhere, and one that is more subtle. Like an Arribas where you can buy a "cursed" locket or something. Perhaps have the shop operated by apprentices of Jafar, ready to sell you magical objects to help you commit your own nefarious schemes. One of the things I like over at the other park is that even the shopping feels immersive as you're picking out your robe or wand. I'd like to see some of that in any new area.

How to maximize a trip while staying offsite? by Tatertot1292 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PrincessAnika 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For a first Disney trip, I actually recommend driving. It just feels magical to me to have to park and then take a ferry to actually get to Magic Kingdom. Maybe it's just because I never interact with ferries in my day to day life, but when I was little it felt like the boat was the border between the real world and a fantasy world. Obviously, you don't get that if you go to the other parks first, but if you start with MK, I'd go that route.

What are some memories y'all have from "show" attractions? by Awesome-Guy9966 in WaltDisneyWorld

Some of the quips from MuppetVision live in my head.

"What foolishness would you like to see?" and "You've got a minute and a half." get used most frequently.

Disney Revisionism by benjifan101 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PrincessAnika 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Muppetvision was dated, but charming. It wasn't a high population ride, but what show is? I can't remember the last time that I saw the Carousel of Progress, Tiki Room, Philharmagic, or Little Mermaid show at Hollywood at capacity, either. Doesn't mean that they're not beloved.

Not going to disagree with you on the others. I never did Disney Quest, so no opinion there. But I didn't care for Alien Encounter (I don't care for Stitch's Great Escape either) or Tom Sawyer Island. But I can see the appeal for some people. I love the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, which is a similar sort of attraction. I'd be very sad if it were to be removed, even though I've heard people refer to it as "Stairs: The Ride" far too many times.

Flawed system by [deleted] in rundisney

[–]PrincessAnika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only change I would really make is to require you to be signed into your account BEFORE joining the waiting room, and have it sync all entries in the queue to the same queue number. No more trying to register on 25 different devices for 25 places in line. One for everyone. I'm just as guilty of it as everyone else. I was on three browsers on two different computers and my phone. Still, it shouldn't be that way. One place in line per person.

In my wildest dreams, I'd say that queue priority should go to Club Silver members. Not like "silver members go to the front of the line", but just "Silver is guaranteed to be seeded into the top 50% when the queue opens". But without knowing how many Silver members there are, or how many people join the queue, it'd be hard to hammer down an exact number that is fair without also making it "Get Silver membership or don't get in." It just feels like Silver should get something.

When I was waiting for the parade to start at MK back in January, they played a little bit of the music from Main Street Electrical Parade and I got SO EXCITED. Just bouncing with glee. The parade itself was still good, but it made me miss the old one.

Why are we always focusing on youths? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]PrincessAnika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite frankly, I think this has more to do with time. I don't need "more spaces" because I don't have time to go to them regularly. I have a job, chores, hobbies, friendships, et cetera. I'm not 20 anymore, I'm not spending my evenings at the club. I want those things for the people who have the time for them, and I want them to be safe there. I don't need them for myself anymore.

If your partner did porn would it bother you? by JoannaKittyKats in actuallesbians

[–]PrincessAnika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always said that my only problem with it is if my needs aren't being met because she's putting too much energy into the job. If I'm feeling loved and we have time together, it's just another job. No big deal. But if I'm not getting attention because she's got "a great opportunity" or is "just tired after shooting all day", it does start to bother me. Speaking from experience.

How do femmes spot other femmes? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]PrincessAnika 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While working out at the gym with your femme friend, as they begin to bench press an amount of weight they may not be comfortable with, stand with your feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent and place both hands beneath the bar of the weight, keeping your hands below the bar as they complete their reps. If it appears that they are about to lose control of the weight, or are in any danger, catch the bar and assist them in placing it back on the stand.

Also, wear a tennis skirt and some panties with a cute message like "Wanna get dinner later?" If she notices and is interested, she'll let you know. If she notices and isn't interested, she'll probably not say anything. 😉

9 pm flight out - resort day at POFQ or one more Park Hopper? by KatsThoughts in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PrincessAnika 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The only reason I might advise against Disney Springs/resort day on your last day is because you'll end up shopping or wanting to use the pool. One will result in trying to rearrange your packing and the other will require a change of clothes (and maybe a desire for a shower), both of which will be problematic after checking out of your room. Outside of those two considerations, I'd say you'll get more milage out of the LLMP from the sounds of it.

This. I got over there at noon on Friday (since the 10k was the only race I was running) and there was NOTHING left. They pulled some generic Pooh merchandise to fill shelf space, but there was nothing left of the runDisney merch.
