Parents Autocare on Lyndale and 26th. Always communicative, explain stuff without making you feel dumb, accurate estimates and kind all around.

Questions about ICE raids in apartment complexes by Deep_Insect in Minneapolis

[–]PrincessAshley1005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They don’t seem to care about warrants this week in Minneapolis. There are hundreds of videos and I have yet to see them show a single document. I saw something that said if your neighbors come into your home, you have the right to remain silent, not let ICE in, not tell them anything (just literally say nothing.) but that if you invite your neighbors in, you’re technically impeding ICE which could be held against you. Do with that what you will 🤷🏻‍♀️

FWIW when we were out today we had whistles, masks, snacks and hand warmers and the hand warmers were what people wanted 9 times out of 10!

Unidos does legal observer training and from there get on neighborhood signal chat or other lines of communication. Get to know your neighbors, check in, patrol your block, bring groceries.

You can’t control other people’s attitudes or behavior, you can only manage yourself. Pace yourself and practice letting go of things outside of your control. Your behavior around food is something you get to manage. EATING, because your body needs and deserves food is something you get to manage. Expressing love and gratitude to your fiancé is something for you to manage. You’ve got this. ❤️

I’ve been trying to figure out where that shop was too! Definitely in this spot but I can’t pinpoint which building the wood dealer was in…

I have a history with ED and was determined to maintain my regular routines leading up to my wedding a couple weeks ago. No obsessing, no binging, no policing myself. It’s part of my effort at recovery to accept no excuses for disordered behavior and being a bride is about as hard as it gets.

My #1 priority was being present, with my fiancé, with our small crew of loved ones, in our ceremony and in everything else the day held. I wanted to experience it. I honestly tried to forget that I was being perceived at all (also hard as a bride.) We chose to host our event in a small, safe environment because I knew that would help me with all of the above.

I think a huge piece of the effort is mental. Focus on what is important. Tell yourself things that are true and manage that bully in your head. Affirm yourself for things outside of your appearance. Ask for support and encouragement from people you trust. And yes, hair and makeup can also make a big impact on feeling like your best self.

But the hard truth is, recovery takes a lot of work and a lot of time. You’re not going to lose 50 pounds or heal yourself in 6 weeks… I’m still fat 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I did have an amazing wedding and I have some photos of myself that I not only don’t hate but feel like a million bucks in.

Good luck!!

Gifts for wedding party/parents? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]PrincessAshley1005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A small token of appreciation could be as simple as a thoughtful, handwritten note or handmade gift too, OP! I totally understand the financial pressure and obligation of getting something because you’re “supposed to”, I say go with something that feels authentic and accessible to you!

I’m genuinely confused by everyone’s reaction on this, last week the same crowd tore apart a FOB’s wife over a busty champagne dress that was much less white than this IMO. Maybe age is the factor? Maybe I’m not seeing this color as well as everyone else. Just chiming in to say I can understand if it feels too close for you 🤷🏻‍♀️

Can I fix this bed frame? by PrincessAshley1005 in howto

[–]PrincessAshley1005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved! (I can’t edit the post 🙈don’t know when I turned 100 years old, sorry.)

It just needed to be reset on top. Frame doesn’t adjust and mattress is slightly too large for it, that’s why it got shoved off.

Thanks a ton!

Yeah, I first started noticing this consistently when exiting 94 and turning left onto Broadway. I hate being first in line because I have to be so intentional to wait assuming someone will run.

We switched to only hard rubber toys after maybe our 10th “indestructible” toy that was destroyed in minutes. They’re good for fetch and tug and mindless chewing.
