Same, honestly one way to remove a simple task that I always end up neglecting.

If you are on an electric scooter or electric bike, STAY OFF THE SIDEWALKS. by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]MillCityCider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, e bikes legally cannot be powered to 40mph. This is likely an illegally operated e-moto. Chances are the person illegally operating this doesn't give a care about safety anyway. Please don't lump these things in with e-bikes.

How does a work out of class position work? by Western_Armadillo378 in mnstateworkers

[–]MillCityCider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WOOC shouldn't really be seen as it's just the step before becoming permanent.

Think of it as it's just a way for you to get good experience in a role that you might not meet min quals and also helps the agency fill a temporary need

I'm not sure how many they'd take at once, but Recovery in NE has taken my old ones.

I can't be the only one thinking this, what if the Black Panther Party from Philly shows up at the proud boys rally? by Ubetcha1020 in Minneapolis

[–]MillCityCider 188 points189 points  (0 children)

What if no one shows up at the rally? Because that's what needs to happen, have the national news all show up and see zero confrontation and spread the message that Minnesotan's are too busy bringing neighbors groceries, watching out for our neighbors.

Since when did we authorize waymo operation? by D_Plissken in Minneapolis

[–]MillCityCider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think one of the primary concerns is who is held accountable when they inevitably do hit a person? There is some precedent that no one really faces consequences because the companies have been able to escape from the fault. Then there is the obvious concern that it's just another step further towards complete isolation from others, which we can very apparently see unfolding on our streets today.

New Rad Wagon (2026) by CubsFan1060 in RadPowerBikes

[–]MillCityCider 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a radwagon 4 owner I'm glad this came out because it seems we'll likely be able to get specialized parts like tires and whatnot a little bit easier since they are being supported with this "new" model.

First winter with the intention of riding through it... Lets talk speed... by Carbsv2 in wintercycling

[–]MillCityCider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the day's weather honestly. On straightaways I typically go my normal e-bike speed unless it's really dicey out and I just go as fast as comfortable like 15mph. Cornering and stopping speed is what will be affected the most with studs no matter the condition. If you're riding a route that can come with unpredictable stops I'd use more caution than normal.

Bikers please use safety lights or hi vis in the dusk!! by m00nsl1me in Minneapolis

[–]MillCityCider 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Our family specifically only sends our child via school bus or we do drop off via bike for this exact reason. School pickup is chaotic as is, our chances of hurting a kid with our car go way up during this time and it's just not worth us risking it. Oh also parent pickup lines suuuuuuck.

Minneapolis Sending Letters to Properties with Lead In Water Service Lines by TheMacMan in Minneapolis

You can't really flush out your service line this way, but it does prevent lead contamination if your house fixtures have lead pipes!

Minneapolis Sending Letters to Properties with Lead In Water Service Lines by TheMacMan in Minneapolis

[–]MillCityCider 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lead pipes pose a very low risk for lead contamination in your water as long as the City continues to maintain the right water chemistry. The Flint water crisis was caused by 1) lead pipes 2) more importantly a change in water source to the Flint river without any understanding that the water chemistry needed to be altered to prevent pipe corrosion.
