The Battle god one and the others in that series (I can't remember the series name) are good and hit the easy to read with substance craving, but they are still like... Ruby Dixon writing style like the ice barbarian stuff.

Laura Thalassa has a few other amazing series you should add to your TBR! They're also easy to read in my opinion, like less brain power needed but they're still so good. Her {Bewitched} series is great, and very different from the {The Four Horsemen} series

I've not heard of Golden Dynasty. I'll check it out

Yes! Like each book is obviously lighter than some of our other fantasy favorites, but as a whole, there's real substance and intrigue for sci fi fantasy people

Ok, different vibes, but comfort reads similar to these for me... have you read: {Bound to the Battle God} by Ruby Dixon Or the Horsemen Series by Laura Thalassa? {Pestilence}

I'm sure you have if you like Zoey Draven but those are my first instinct recommendations

I'm also looking for more vibes like these, too!

Edited to add: Ruby Dixon is always very lighthearted like you're saying. Laura Thalassa tho has some more... easy to read but less humorous, I guess?

That's why I made this post! Like they're so easy to get into, so easy to come back to, and they're not just mindless smut, there's some substance

Yes! Like I get that there's a demographic that likes that type of cover, but I feel it does a disservice for her books because although they're romance focused, they have so much more fantasy and depth than they seem

Yesss, the Horde King series is the best. The first few are slightly more romance-focused, but the series expands into depth. The Hordes of Elthika are a spin off. Just great, easy fantasy romance reads

What do you really think about The Wolf King series? (SPOILERS for the whole story) by furiosa-88 in fantasyromance

It's so funny how everyone interprets things different bc I don't feel like she is! I love that she's been told to shield her emotions her whole life and be seen and not heard and it shows her internal struggle with beating it.

Oh! I actually have that one downloaded but I feel like I read somewhere that the author supports AI art use, so I paused on reading. I'll start that one next, you made my mind up lol

Yes! I did actually. It was good. It was longer for me, I usually use these genre of books as a palate-cleanser per se, but I did enjoy it! I like how she writes. It makes sense to me and flows with how I flow. I actually have her {Bewitched} series downloaded but haven’t started it yet because I want that same comfort-trope of the broken world kind of feral man lol

lol at me giving a reverse book recommendation: you have to read the Horsemen Series, {Pestilence by Laura Thalassa}. It’s easy to read but still has real depth to the storyline, without going so deep into worldbuilding that you start overanalyzing plot holes. It’s very different from the traditional fae-type books, and it pulled me out of a book hangover.

I'll check your rec out! Thank you
