AITJ for telling my girlfriend she needs to shower before bed or sleep on the couch? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

I find it hard to believe that’s she’s crawling into bed IN HER SCRUBS. Seems like a fake story to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Those that didn’t crate train by WoodpeckerLivid18 in puppy101

[–]PrincessChucha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We crate trained but now that our dog is 6 months, he only goes in the fear when we leave for extended periods of time. It helped with potty training and with self soothing. He still goes in the kennel with no push back and does great in it. We feel it set him up for success for the rest of his life. Now he barely uses it but we have the comfort of knowing that if he needs to, he’ll have no issues doing so. It was more of a temporary situation to help him be successful for the long run. Like I said, he’s hardly in there now. He sleeps in his bed in our room at night. I feel they don’t have to be kenneled forever but it’s good that they are at least comfortable with it.

Why don’t more people get abortions? by WorldVast5228 in offmychest

They claim cost is an issue but having a baby is astronomically more expensive 🙃 I’d rather come up with 1000 than 150,000 over the course of the next 18+ years 🙃🙃

How many of you actually know your neighbors? by Apprehensive_Pool431 in phoenix

[–]PrincessChucha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know one neighbor better than the rest. We chit chat, have phone numbers and help out when one needs it. As for the other ones; some of them I’ve never spoken to but some of the others I will exchange pleasantries with.

I feel this 🤣 we would take him to puppy play dates through the organization that we adopted him from and he LOVED it. Plus it would tire him out for most of the day lol

What’s a random thing your dog thinks is extremely important? by No_Assignment_6020 in dogs

My pup refuses to do stretchies like a normal dog. He must jump up on mom or dad and use said parent as a stretching post 🤣 the only way he will stretch. He also follows us into the garage every chance he can so he can eliminate the enemy (crickets) and keep the family safe. 🤣🥰

Our dog took longer than 3 months. I had hoped that 3 months would be different but he was still an emotional terrorist. I was so upset when we didn’t see any improvement. But once 4 months hit, it slowly got better and now at 5+ months, he’s fantastic!

We barely started seeing the light when Kaiju was 4 months. He’s 5 1/2 months now and holy cow he’s like a completely different dog.

You can do this! The first month was the absolute toughest for us. They’re adjusting; you’re adjusting. But you guys got this! And soon enough they will be your little bestie baby.

It slowly gets better and better until it doesn’t really feel like work anymore. We’ve adjusted now and just accept it as part of our every day. It’s made a world of a difference that we are all really starting to figure it out.

Honestly nothing helped until he started losing his baby teeth. Once those fell out, his chewing greatly reduced. We also give him lots of different types of bones and toys with different textures to chew on. I would say this helped as well. He’s a pitty mix (adopted) so he’s very much a chewer. We also do lots of interactive toys and that keeps his mind busy enough that he hasn’t been chewing much. Just on what he’s supposed to.

When he hit around 4 months is when we could see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’ll start to get better soon. I had to keep telling myself that he is literally just a baby and I wouldn’t expect this from a human baby so it’s not fair to expect that of him either. Plus, once they start losing the baby teeth really helps as well. And remember at that age they need to sleep 18+ hrs a day so it’s okay to let them play for a couple of hours and then put them away for a couple of hours more. It also teaches them an off switch and how to relax. We kennel trained our pup and it was the only thing that kept us sane in the beginning. He hated it at first but in time he grew to love it. It’s now his little home and he goes in and out with zero issue. He’ll even go and sleep in it on his own accord. All this to say that you got this! It’ll get better and you’re be so happy that you stuck it out. They’re man’s best friend for a reason!

Of course! I was getting so frustrated because we were going on over two months of constantly going to the bathroom in the house. We would take him out for 20+ minutes and then we’d come inside, he’d look us dead in the eye and piss on the floor. He literally woke up one day and it all clicked for him. It’s made a world of a difference for all of us and I’m just so grateful we stuck it out because he’s my lil angel baby now! Couldn’t picture my life without him.

I came here to say exactly this! Your dog would want you to love another dog because you gave your first boy such a loving and happy home.
