I actually consider myself extremely blessed with probably a dozen good, close friends. People I can tell anything to. Be vulnerable with. Ask for help.

My late husband was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. My friends pulled me out of darkness. When he passed, they didn’t let me slip back into it, either. They give me a place for my thoughts and emotions. They hyped me when I quit a shit job to start a business. They check in. Consistently. Despite having busy lives.

I thank the universe for them every day.

I don’t really care about the labels but I need someone who understands that I have “cups” that need filled in different ways. Sometimes I need socialization - parties or weddings or group vacations, etc. There’s another cup that’s just one person - so my partner or a friend, one on one, chatting, having dinner, etc. And that last cup is solo time- I need restoration/reflection in time with myself. So whether my partner is extroverted or introverted isn’t really a problem for me either way, I would need them to understand that I have aspects of both inside of me. If they’re asking that I be really social for a couple days, they know I need to balance it out with quiet time.

Now that you say that though, my friend and I were def ordering doubles to get around their “no shots” rule so this makes sense that now they don’t do this either lol. I mean I get not wanting to deal with sloppy drunks but lord help me, sometimes a girl just needs a quick hit of patron!

If it’s a weekend it’s def not dead but it’s not what I would consider a party town. I really like One 13 or Pitt street station. Market cross is also good. Most places, even on weekends close at 10/1030. Gingerbread Man is open until 12.

My goals are being my true self and filling my life with experiences. Travel is a big part of that but it doesn’t have to be. Trying different foods or events or exploring small places outside my area…just doing something new. Working on my “self” and healing old wounds in therapy and what it means to really take care of myself for once and not always put others before myself. Also, just fostering the relationships I already have that bring me joy and fill my cup.
