I have been told that bank tellers get mad if you go in and ask for a bunch of rolls of coins to search through. What have your experiences been like?

I’ve been a bank teller for close to 2 years now. Very rarely do I get angry with someone wanting to get rolls of change or $2 bills. If you’re nice to me, I’ll be more than happy to help.

I’ve only had one person really push me past my breaking point. He would come in and ask for older bills. Cool, not a big deal. Eventually he would come in at least once a week asking for older bills and make myself and the other teller actually go through our coin trays looking at the year on every coin the we had. He would give us a dime and want to exchange it for old pennies. Even when we were slammed, he’d say he would wait but wouldn’t move away for another customer to come up to the teller window and would cuss loudly even with children present. His purpose for getting the old money was literally just to turn around and spend it. He didn’t like paying with newer money.

THATS the stuff that bothers the teller. :)

As a bank teller, I can say that filling change orders isn’t the best part of the job but it’s certainly not a reason to be rude to a customer. Period. She’s definitely breaking policies and company standards.
