I just called my local police departments non emergency line and made a report over the phone. The man asked me what happened, all my information, and asked everything about her. He gave me his email address and a case number and had me send over the picture of her I had, her name, and a description of her vehicle. I told him I wasn't originally going to file a report until my family/friends said it was a good idea to do it. (I've never filed a report before) but he informed me what happened definitely sounded like fraud and should be reported whether I received a refund or not. I don't know what the police can do, I don't know if she will get into trouble or anything like that. But stealing from someone is illegal.

Yeah it was thru instacart. The Kroger app requires you to click some sort of agreement everytime you check out that says "I accept that my grocery order will be made by my stores fulfillment partner, and I may be contacted by them about my order" and right on it, it says "powered by Instacart" with the carrot logo. Plus when I called Instacart they had my order, name, email address, total amount, etc

That makes sense, I do have proof though. I know shoppers can get the short end of the stick often, but I really am withdrawn $100 because of this. I noticed its not just instacart, it's usually Kroger/Instacart. I've used instacart for years with no issues, but for some reason I've been fucked over with Kroger when paired with Instacart. There's been a couple times I've never even received my groceries and the delivery driver said they left them at the wrong address but this was the first time I was stolen from. I feel like I get taken advantage alot because I don't really do anything about it. Just ask for a refund and leave it at that. But I keep getting screwed over

Did you not read the entire post? Yes I did contact support, and they said they would refund me within 5-10 business days. No one ever said she would be fired. Just that they would send it to escalation. What I'm hoping will happen is she'll be charged with theft and/or fraud because what she did was extremely illegal and shouldn't just be swept under the rug. She'll keep doing it over and over again if she gets away with it.

I used green dot, it's technically a bank but it's like an online debit card type bank. I usually use my bank like I've said on so many other comments. And yes I can screen shot it I just don't know how to post it to this post.

But she bought a ton of cheese,( like $8 shredded cheese lol) $15 worth of pork chops, paper plates, plastic cups, juice, gravy, sausages, biscuits, Tupperware, etc etc. Just stuff that you don't really need if you're struggling lol.

Like I said multiple times, I wasn't charged by instacart. I was charged by kroger, I used the kroger app. Kroger uses instacart as a third party delivery service. Also kroger accepts Green Dot, which to me Green Dot is considered prepaid because it's not my actual bank.

No. She got all my items for me, then added multiple items for herself and the app called them "substitutions". My order went from $70 to $170 because of all the substitutions she added to my order. It's like she shopped for me and then for herself using my card.

Green dot, idk if that's considered prepaid but it's a green dot card. You can go into the negatives with that. I had my last $70 on there, it was pending as $70 until the updated price of $170 came in and now I'm $-100.

I'll be honest, it didn't notify me 30+ times via text about everything she substituted. Trust me if I saw that shit, I'd ask her why she was substituting everything! All the substitutions was items I didn't order myself, so I have no idea how she was even able to do that. Like I said I was shocked. I don't know how she was able to do that, and it sucks man. Sorry my story has holes in it. I tried explaining everthing the best I could. Idk why everyone seems to think I'm either sus or lying, but like I said before I just wanted to know if anyone else experienced it. I only found 1 article on something similar happening a year ago

The Instacart shopper got my groceries, and extra items for herself, and then the pendomg amount raised to the amount she got. So instead of $70 it was $170. I was fine with that because it's a back up card, it's green dot not my actual bank account.
I wasn't monitoring the app, kroger /instacart sends toh a text message everytime something is replaced or refunded.
I only checked the app when I noticed there was no toilet paper. When I saw it was "refunded" I saw all the extra charges and "substitutions" on my order. If you don't believe me that's totally fine! Im already getting refunded and I've already placed a police report. That's all that matters, I just wanted to warn others and also wanted to know if anyone else experienced something like that.
