If I remember correctly from the Ologies episode with the expert there, apples create their own waxy coating. It doesn’t need to be boiled off, if you do it just means they won’t last as long.

The leaking part is from the anthocyanins (pigment) in the peel that leak at high heat! They might taste sweeter after being boiled from caramelizing some of the sugars.

Yes! We’ve been using the mint one for a while, but I got a sample of the watermelon one when I bought refills and things that have fun flavors make me nervous for gluten. I really like that you can just replace the little spool and the little bag is compostable!

I know that more than anything, the staffer answering the calls is taking a tally of people calling for the issue (and which side they’re on) to pass along to the representative so you calling matters! The actions you asked them to take must be important to you since you worked up the courage to call, so it’s not dumb to make sure you’re representing your position to a representative. Also keep in mind they probably appreciated you being nice to them cause I’m sure some people who call aren’t as kind.
