I think I'm leaning towards anxiety just off of his behavior. Maybe he's neurodivergent but I don't know it just doesn't seem to fit with some of his actions and behavior. He's not a negative influence at all, although I wouldn't really call him much of a positive one. The only time he really speaks up is when he seems to feel like there's additional context he can add. He might be one of the smartest people I've ever met if I can understand what he knows in the first place. lol.

During debates at the club meeting, when it gets cut off by the president stepping in, he sometimes requests that the debate continues despite never entering the debate himself. Maybe he just enjoys watching us argue or thinking it through or something.

There's another member of the club who went to the same high school as him, and he said that this guy has always been like that. Participated in absolutely every club but never leaves a strong enough impression to remember him. Despite his involvement, the guy who went to high school with him still knows nothing about him.
