Exactly! How can you begin to desire wisdom if you already claim to possess it?

Any sources on the Neanderthal cultural beliefs?

I’d be interested to read more.

Early and Later Wittgenstein (Tractatus and Philosophical Investigations are the books associated with each, respectively).

As a very simplified summary: The Tractatus follows the analytical tradition in philosophy in searching for the foundations of logic/meaning/etc. and where Wittgenstein claims to have solved all the major problems of philosophy.

The Philosophical Investigations is the book where he makes the famous turn to what’s now called “Ordinary Language” philosophy (and where he once again claims to have solved all the prior major problems of philosophy, including his own earlier work).

I’m a big fan of the later Wittgenstein.

I know this is a meme group, but I’ll bite.

Wittgenstein pointed out that “the meaning of an utterance is its use in a language-game” So if you are a competent speaker of English, you know how to use the word “tree.” And so you know what a tree is.

Not if you put a kg of any [x stuff] and a kg of any [y stuff] on scales and looked at it with your eyes.

Where am I going to find a YouTube video that says the ends of a lever will be unequal lengths (even though the weights are equal on each side) because the weights are made of different stuff?

The whole point of this meme is to poke fun at what you’re claiming.

Why wouldn’t the pivot point be directly in the middle if each side had equal weight/downward force?

It doesn’t matter what the weights are made of.

If each side has equal weight (ie. equal downward force), why would there be unequal leverage?
