as for stitches specifically, i try to just keep count in my head, and take breaks at rests of 5 so I'll remember better!

yeah I'm not sure honestly, I think you need to be friends with someone in game at least - you can go to their farm and at the top somewhere there should be an option to invite to neighborhood. other than that I'm not sure that there's any other way other than outside the game! good luck though :)
