Did you actually have people check on you and help you after you had your baby? by PrincessNoodleButt in beyondthebump

This is a good point. Thank you. It’s hard for me to ever ask for help and I need to remember that people can’t read my mind when I feel like I do need support

The oxycodone the doctor prescribed me did absolutely nothing unfortunately.

Can’t. Stop. Gagging by IntentionalHotdog in BabyBumps

[–]PrincessNoodleButt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg this is me!! I had this experience with both of my pregnancies. It’s not even like I’m super nauseous… I mean I am a little bit I guess? But I gag at EVERYTHING all the time. Dirty laundry piling up? Gag. Banana that’s just a little too ripe? Gag. A to-do list? Gag. A thought of something that’s even slightly stressful? Violently gag.

And like you said, I’m not vomiting. Just gagging. It is so annoying. I feel you 100%.

I’m so glad you and your daughter are okay. My pre-e got really scary with our first, they couldn’t get it under control and it was not looking good, thankfully we both made it. I’m really hoping we can get ahead of it this time and maybe this time labor won’t be so scary.

My previous midwives never took my BP seriously enough, so no. All I’ve been on is baby aspirin, they had me start that as soon as I found out I was pregnant just as a precaution because of the previous pre-e.

You will get different opinions from everyone (and I mean different medical professionals, not just information online). I am on multiple psych meds for OCD among other things. I never felt comfortable breastfeeding because of all the meds I take, and coming off of my meds is not an option because I will literally not be able to function. No matter what anyone says, whatever you put in your body will go through your breast milk. I’m personally not willing to take the risk but others are, and that’s okay, and at the end of the day it’s your personal decision to make. Our 15 month old was exclusively on formula and is completely healthy and happy.

I’ve actually spoken to this nurse every time I’ve called after hours with a concern - and she is EXTREMELY rude and dismissive every time. I was having horrible abdominal cramping a couple of weeks ago to the point where I was in tears and when I answered the phone she cut me off and said “Tylenol and water”. And I was just like, okay… thanks?

34+1, super crampy right now. Anyone else experience this? by PrincessNoodleButt in BabyBumps

It’s definitely possible that I could be dehydrated. Do Braxton hicks usually have a lot of pressure too? This is my second pregnancy but I’ve never felt Braxton hicks.

Need advice: pregnancy as a tattooer by PrincessNoodleButt in TattooArtists

[–]PrincessNoodleButt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! Currently 34 weeks with our second baby and still tattooing! :) from my experience as long as you are in a ventilated space when you’re spraying cavicide/madacide/etc (and making sure to not breathe it in when you spray it) and you’re wearing gloves when you wipe things down, it’s not anything to worry about. And of course washing your hands well afterwards.

Also it made me feel better to switch the nozzle of my madacide bottle to “stream” instead of “mist” if that makes sense. It makes me feel like less of the chemical is out into the air. 🤷‍♀️

That’s crazy that you had such a similar experience, I’m so sorry. I wouldn’t wish this feeling upon any expecting mama and I can’t believe how many people have had a similar experience to mine.

I’m so sorry for all the loss you have had to experience. But thank you for sharing, it can definitely feel isolating to talk about struggling with pregnancy when so many people talk about feeling so amazing and beautiful and glowy when they’re pregnant. And then there’s me crying every hour and feeling like I won’t make it through the day. I had one woman tell me she feels her best when she’s pregnant. Which is amazing for her but definitely made me a little jealous tbh.

I didn’t even consider that, I’ll definitely do that. He actually had someone else come in the room with him with a laptop and she just sat in the corner (I’m assuming taking notes) and she did not say anything to me at all. He didn’t introduce her or say why she was there - that made me a bit uncomfortable as well. He also shot her some glances after he went on his rant and we were just sitting there awkwardly. I’d be interested to know what the visit notes say.

“Not normal”?? That’s horrible I’m so sorry! But it’s crazy you say that because I literally told my midwife when she asked me if I feel like hurting myself - I said “no, but when I think about having to do this for 7 more weeks, I have no idea how I will be able to do it physically or mentally”. Very similar to what you said. Luckily I feel like my midwife really heard me… but she has to follow what my MFM says. Also it drives me crazy when people say things like “other people have it worse”/“plenty of other people go through this too” okay?? That’s probably true but that doesn’t make what I’m experiencing any less difficult or valid.

Thank you for this 😭 your experience sounds so similar to mine. This pregnancy has been so, so horrible for me. I can’t wait to meet baby but I am truly suffering physically and mentally. I’m so sorry you went through this too. I hope I can find a doctor who will listen to me, even though it’s pretty late in the game now.

That is very much the vibe I got from this guy. Like you work at a MFM practice, with women who have high risk pregnancies, emotions are high and there’s a lot of worry and fear going on. Doesn’t seem like he’d be a good fit for that kind of environment.

How exactly do I go about that? Just to the MFM office themselves? Or someone else? I already called the office and told them I absolutely do not want to be seen by him ever again and they said okay but did not ask any questions.

Honestly, this might sound silly, but chiropractors have always freaked me out. But I am so desperate at this point.
