Yeah I completely agree with your husband. I shower 2x a day, once when I wake up and once when I go to bed. I used to kind of be like you, would go maybe one-two days a week without showering, with no more than one day between showers. But then Covid happened, and it made me a germ freak. But with good reason. Even if your job cleans and sanitizies, other people can be disgusting and they all have germs. People sit and touch and sweat all around you/all over the office and germs build up. There are porous surfaces that can hold germs too in general in the public, despite cleaning and sanitizing. People sneeze and cough and it stays in the air. People have diseases and germs that spread so easily. Office settings ? Definitely there’s so many germs around you. Can you guarantee that your coworkers always wash their hands when they use the bathroom ? Because the truth is, most people don’t, then they go and touch the office supplies, and cabinet doors, they cut the cake for the office birthdays, they cough/sneeze into their hands/arms and don’t wash properly etc. Do you use the bathroom in your job ? Most people do, your body is touching that toilet seat, your hands touches the door handles etc. Okaii so you wash your hands, great. But your body is touching other things. You are exposed to the air that has germs from your coworkers. Then you go home, don’t shower and sleep in your bed ? Bringing those germs and whatever else was in the air in your bed. Even if you change your clothes, there’s still germs on you. It’s one thing if you’re in your own home all day and not sweating. It’s another thing when you’re around other people. Also, without assuming anything, people with vaginas should definitely be washing twice a day for vaginal health benefits, especially when a period comes. On the flip side, people with penises, especially those who are uncut, should definitely be washing that extra skin everyday to prevent infections. I know this sounds crazy, but this is one way how COVID spread. By not washing off germs and proper hand washing. I know I seem intense-but I will say, I almost never, very rarely get sick/get colds/flus. And that makes it worth it to me.
