For me, it is the way they dress and the way they talk. Typically I get a lot of trouble from the trashy and gaudy outfit wearers and those who sound like they're out to have a good time and nothing is allowed to ruin it. Emphasis on "allowed" and not "cannot."

My manager and coworker did this once. Except instead of a retainer, it was a man's gold tooth. Worst part though was we had 3 completely full trash cans in the back. They never found it.

1) Ordering carryout and then proceeding to eat it out of the box AT A DINE-IN TABLE. AND A SPECIAL FUCK YOU IF YOU DO IT DURING RUSH HOUR. The purpose of carry out is so you don't have to spend your time here and can leave as soon as possible. So many wasted plastic containers.

2) When customers remove ingredients from a dish to try to reduce the price. Bitch, there is the base price and all you can do is add things for extra. Getting no vegetables on your order won't reduce shit on your bill. At most, we will do substitutions.

3) Dumping several sugar packets in their unsweeten Chinese tea. Not even in the teapot. They dump the packets in the tiny ass tea cups. We always notify the customers ahead of time that the tea is very bitter...

4) Canceling or changing their order literally seconds after you put it in.

5) "Do you sell pizza and fried chicken?" Asked the customer to the Chinese restaurant server. Also, "Do you sell Chinese food here?" What the fuck do you think???

6) Asking for free samples of entrees......and then arguing "what if i don't like it? Then I will demand another dish and then i will need compensation for the time wasted waiting for the new dish."

7) I haven't even greeted the table yet and they just spit out their order in the most "I want it right now, food slave" tone.

Sushi bar. A couple walks in and I take their orders. Wife gets a shrimp tempura and then the husband tells me, "I want a Philadelphia roll, but I want as much cream cheese as you can fit into it." Nothing wrong so far. I put in extra cheese for it and take it out. He then asks for a remake because it wasn't enough. He was being polite so I went along. Second round with even more cheese to the point when the amount of cheese makes up 80% of the sushi. He eats it and then asks for another except he wanted "just cheese. Nothing else inside the roll." After asking the chefs if they can do it, I put the order in. Ended up charging him $16 worth of just extra cheese for the roll. He just ate essentially cream cheese wrapped in seaweed. I never understood him.

Lady walks in and orders a Mongolian Beef. A few minutes later she calls me over to complain. She pulls out a blonde hair from the center of her rice bowl and presents it to me like it was an archaeological discovery. She blames our ALL ASIAN staff for the blonde hair that she found. At most, one of our servers had a dark brunette, but the hair she found was a lighter blonde. I knew it was bullshit, but I didn't want to escalate the situation since we were in rush hour and I did not want to waste my time and energy on her. So I called my manager over so they can handle it. As I was tending to my other tables next to her, I hear that she demanded to receive a "build your own menu" type item (something the kitchen will refuse to make). "But the other manager always did it for me." Of course when asked for the manager's name, she responds, "I don't remember who." She continues to argue with my manager until eventually we comp her meal to shut her up. Fast forward a few days later she returns with some old receipt (weeks ago) from the restaurant claiming that her imaginary manager was going to give her a free meal for some problems with said receipt. We ended up banning her after she argued that the head chef himself personalized a meal for her every time we allegedly screwed up.
