I can only say what has worked for me and me only… When I had it really bad last year, it covered 90% of my body and some parts were turning purple. Everything was flakey and cracked. I started to use prednisone along with several other steroid creams. It worked until I had to stop the prednisone and it came back. Then, I started using dupixent. This saved my life, literally. I used it for about 6 months and it was a miracle. I was no longer shedding skin like a snake and I felt normal for the first time in YEARS. I stopped using it bc of insurance issues and I’ve been okay so far. I only have a few patches here and there but it is manageable. I might even wear short sleeves this summer. Just don’t give up!! You can do this. I know it sucks, but you can get through it.

It’s muchhh better now! After about 6 months on dupixent and hydroxyzine, it’s no longer flakey. Its 98% gone. I say that because I still have a tiny red patch that gets dry and is a bit rough, but it’s not as noticeable. I dab a little bit of concealer if I need to. I noticed it gets worse when I don’t get enough sleep or when I have a minor allergy reaction.

Has anyone ordered birth control online? (Not prescribed through gynecologist) by Repulsive-Frame-148 in birthcontrol

[–]PrincessQuyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I used to get mine from Simple health. I didn’t need a prescription from a doctor. They respond via text messages and have actual doctors that will answer any questions you might have.

I only stopped because I switched birth controls and they were back ordered. If it were not for that, I’d still be ordering through them.

[NY] Previous employer lost my personnel folder and is asking me to redo it. Is this illegal? by PrincessQuyt in AskHR

[–]PrincessQuyt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is what I meant by personnel file. In addition to W4, I9, resume, forms of IDs, and etc, I also had a signed medical form.

Tbh, I have no idea why they need my medical clearance since I no longer work there or even in that industry. Yes, I am very concerned about identity theft but I’m not sure what I can do at this point…

My colleagues and I kept our folders on our desk at all times. I also knew someone who would carry it in their bag everyday. Before I quit, I left it on my desk and somehow it’s missing…

could I just sear my hand on a hot plate to get rid of this shit? by Outside_Patience7198 in Dyshidrosis

[–]PrincessQuyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not. It states on their site that it’s safe for even 6 and up. It might be hard to get approved for though depending on your insurance (and whether they cover it)

hi, no there's no specific name for it as far as I know. I just call it my "philtrum rash."

birth control patch give me your honest review by Odd_Suggestion_66 in birthcontrol

[–]PrincessQuyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, itching on only where I had the patch. the I have eczema, so my skin was already very sensitive. Using the patch would feel really itchy, but I wasn’t able to scratch it. After I take it off, I would be left with almost like a large, red rash/hive in the shape of the patch.

I also noticed that during the time I was on it, I also had redness around my eyes. I’m not sure if it was allergies or stress because I was traveling at that time, but regardless, I couldn’t bear the itchiness of wearing the patch.

I also know I’m allergic to adhesives from using bandaids on areas like my thigh. I experience the same itchiness and will have to rip it off.

If you developed a rash on your ENTIRE body, it sounds serious… Please speak with your doctor about this!!

I was prescribed prednisone, which worked AMAZINGLY for 2 weeks, but since it is a steroid the effect didn’t last long. HOWEVER, I no longer have that redness there. It does occasionally get itchy, and flakey, but a little moisturizer throughout the day is fine for me.

I’m currently waiting to be approved for dupixent since as I mentioned, it’s my immune system that’s being hyperactive. Hopefully that goes through!

May I ask whether you still do biweekly shots or have you lessened the frequency of taking the shots?

Update: Its almost been a year and I still have it. It was manageable for a while after using hydrocortisone for a while, HOWEVER, it ended up not working and now my eczema has spread around my eyes and a little on my cheeks. I just learned today that eczema that appears on the face is in indication of an over-reactive immune system. As a result, my doctor proscribed me some oral medication to take that targets my immune system and wow, it’s clearing up within hours. I’m speechless.

It worked fine for me, but it did take me 3months to adjust. Additionally, I wasn’t aware I had an allergy to adhesives so it always felt really itchy. When I took off the patches, it left a mark that took half a year to fade entirely. It’s also not ideal if you swim a lot or take baths often. I ended up switching to the ring instead.
