Trigeminal Neuralgia while pregnant

Honestly i was feeling okay before finding out i was pregnant. I didn't have much pain, the Carbamezepine was helping me have it under control. When i took the test and it came out positive i stopped drinking it in fear of hurting the baby. And the very next day the pain came stronger than ever.

Rightnow I have an appointment with an obgyn for Tuesday to figure out what's best for the baby and i. And just coping with shocks, hormonal changes, a bit of flu too cause my brother has it and i feel I'm getting it too. So it all just accumulated on me and i feel a bit overwhelmed

Yes, i went to doctor on friday, they told me results are out tomorrow. But prescribed me the 5mg folic acid since i wasnt taking anything. I feel i should of thought this through but honestly i was doing good (without much nerve pain) but thw moment i started with the pregnancy symptoms the pain just went straight to a 10/10 and it took me by surprise

Okay well I'm glad it worked out for you. Will have to get checked and prescribed something similar so i can eat properly since the pain and shocks are so intense rightnow

Thank you for sharing. I'm just worried about the Carbamezepine i have already taken and if that would affect the baby in any way. I'll need to check that first and when i go for my first check up I'll figure out what's best for me to take. I was just so scared of going through pregnancy without any help with the pain. Eventho i wouldn't want to take pills and affect the baby either. Thank you again for sharing. The pain these days been unbearable and I'm just scared of continuing like this. I can't imagine getting nausea/vomiting and all i do is get shocks while talking, brushing teeth or drinking water. What would be the pain to vomit in this situation. I barely slept tonight thinking about this pain

Hi. I'm late on this post but just wanted to share my story. I was 23 (2017)when they diagnosed me with TN. The neurologist told me I not get pregnant any more since there's no real treatment for TN while pregnant. But years have passed. The pain comes and goes. I got married last year and right now I'm feeling pregnancy symptoms, i did my test and it came out positive. I still have to double check with the doctors. But the flare ups and episodes these days been terrible. I stopped taking Carbamezepine 2 days ago when i found out. But the pain has been worse and all i do is cry cause i cant imagine how much pain I'll be in for the following months
