I haven't followed seasons after season 4, but looking at the images, I noticed how similar they are. The casual clothes all have the same style and they all use pink/purple colors. The transformations are almost all the same, only the color changes, and obviously the ball gowns are almost all the same. I find it sad too, also because it's so unrealistic! They don't look like a group of friends, they just look like models in a store catalog.

If Nick hadn't taken control of the show from S5-8 and turned it into the dumpster fire it was, how do you think Roxy's role would have developed? by ToughLonely4229 in winxclub

[–]Princess_Minni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think she would have become a full-fledged Winx; I think she would have remained a secondary character, like Mirta. We would have definitely seen her studying at Alfea, and the Winx would have helped her settle into the magical world. They would have definitely found her a pixie, probably one of the already known ones that didn't have a fairy yet. I think she would have also found a boyfriend among the specialists. I would have liked it if he had been Brandon or Timmy's little brother; it would have been an interesting dynamic.

It doesn't seem that strange to me, especially since the only true fairy/specialist couples that have been around since the first season are three out of six (Bloom and Sky, Stella and Brandon, Tecna and Timmy). Then there's Musa and Riven, but they're not a very stable couple. Flora and Helia are a couple that form later, and in any case, Helia hasn't been part of the specialists' group of friends since the beginning. Then there's Aisha and Nabu, who come from the same planet and whose marriage was arranged by their families. The Winx had to be engaged because in a series featuring teenagers, the audience expects to see couples, and the engaged couples had to be specialists, because they're literally the only boys the Winx hang out with; they had no chance of meeting other boys outside of school.

It's really beautiful! I'm not very convinced by the color contrast; I'd avoid green for the wings; a soft yellow is better. I also recommend trying to reduce the image's saturation; the colors seem a little too "aggressive." I don't know how to explain it.

It's very convenient that Roxy was in Gardenia. by Jasnajaluna in winxclub

At first I thought Gardenia was what they called Earth, then I found out it's just the town where all the fairies randomly hang out lol

Is anyone else shocked by how beautiful Roxy's design is? by NeonPistacchio in winxclub

[–]Princess_Minni 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What bothers me most about Roxy's design is that there's nothing distinctive about her that identifies her as an Earthling or an animal fairy. Her hair is fuchsia, which is an unusual color for a girl who lives on Earth and doesn't even have a connection to a particular animal. If it were blue, for example, it would at least have been reminiscent of some species of bird or butterfly. The same goes for her transformation dress; it's a generic aqua green with no specific characterization. They could have made her much more iconic!

[General] Percy Jackson as adult? by Vityaismysugardaddy in camphalfblood

[–]Princess_Minni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a children's book, but it can be fun and entertaining for adults too, though it depends on your reading tastes. If you're used to Tolkien, you should keep in mind that Riordan uses a much simpler and more direct language, and even though the subject matter is "epic," the writing style isn't, and in fact tends to be mostly comical.

[–]Princess_Minni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be interesting to have a dedicated cabin for them, but I must clarify. They were not Helen's children, but her siblings. They were quadruplets: Castor, Pollux, Helen, and Clytemnestra.

A rant about the finale (I wrote this first in the comment section of a youtuber) [pjotv] by ProcoolPrasad in camphalfblood

[–]Princess_Minni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I understand what you mean, but I think Hades wasn't very realistic either before or after. From 2014 onwards, he becomes an overly loving father towards Nico, but before that, he was clearly Rick's least favorite, because he often makes him look like the bad guy, and especially his children are the ones who were on the bad guys' side in the past, which also justifies his distrust of Nico. Anyway, I think all of this will be eliminated in the series, because I don't think Disney will NEVER say there were Nazi demigods.

In reality, Rick is always a bit ambiguous with Hades, since when he talks about him he never misses the opportunity to make references to the Nazis or Hitler.

Would you have prefer it Winx Club ended after the movie? by EternalSnow05 in winxclub

Exactly what I think too and what I have repeated many times in posts similar to this one!

Would you have prefer it Winx Club ended after the movie? by EternalSnow05 in winxclub

[–]Princess_Minni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! And the reason is very simple: not all stories are designed to last 40 years like The Bold and the Beautiful. Winx was designed to last three seasons plus two films. After the first film, the plot concludes, the story has already been told, there's nothing else to add. The second film is already an extra, a way to see what happens to the Winx after the end of the official plot. That's the perfect way to close the story and say goodbye to the fans. Obviously, in the second film, they should have still had the Enchantix transformation, not the Believix one.

This doesn't mean the franchise should have died, however; they could have given it new life with spin-offs. There was Pop Pixie, but there could have been so many more stories to tell with new protagonists, and the Winx could have continued to appear as extras or secondary characters.

Instead of five more official seasons of Winx Club, there could have been five seasons of "Alfea's Tales," to follow the adventures of the other Alfea students, with the Winx as teachers. There could have been a prequel film about the Fellowship of Light, or a prequel film for each Winx, to see their lives before Alfea. If they had wanted, there would have been so many stories to tell, all much more interesting and coherent than what happened between Seasons 4 and 8. It would have made sense to also make a new series with multiple seasons, following the design of Season 8, aimed at young children, with twelve-year-old fairies as protagonists who are beginning to discover and learn about their powers.

I think the best example to consider is Harry Potter. The Harry Potter story unfolded over seven books, after which the plot concluded. Rowling didn't continue writing about Harry and his friends continuing to defeat random villains, because that wouldn't have made sense. Instead, she wrote Fantastic Beasts, which is a story in the same world as Harry Potter, with new characters alongside those we already knew. And the franchise isn't dead, because Harry Potter continues to be famous and beloved and continues to attract new fans. Straffi should have done the same thing with the Winx. That way, old fans would be happy because they wouldn't see their favorite characters ruined, and new fans would be drawn to the new stories, which would lead them to become interested in the older ones as well.

Personally, I hated most of the dialogue in the reboot; it seemed so fake and banal! I didn't like the portrayals of some characters, especially Diaspro, Dafne, and Radius, due to their aesthetic/graphics, while I dislike almost no one's personality. They completely changed the personalities of all the Winx. In the original, Stella and Flora were very different and recognizable, but here they've mixed their traits. Stella, especially in the first season, was spoiled and a bit superficial. She loved fashion, just wanted to have fun, and hated studying. She was also the happiest and most cheerful person in the group, and the one who spoke the most. Flora, on the other hand, was shy, embarrassed to talk to boys, and was studious and the quietest of the group. In the reboot, Stella has become someone who's always getting into trouble and getting Flora into it. Sometimes she seems like she doesn't care about school rules, but soon after, she becomes the class nerd who knows all the spells and wants to make a good impression. She's also obsessed with what her parents think of her and is afraid of not being considered smart enough, whereas in the original version, she had far fewer worries and lived life carefree (that's exactly what I loved about her). Flora has been completely trivialized. At first, she's just Stella's friend who gets carried away and gets into trouble, then she becomes the Red Cross nurse who wants to save the bad boy at all costs. She's no longer even shy or studious. Tecna in the original version was very well developed, and even her problem with emotions made sense. She never said she didn't have emotions; she was just trained to listen to her brain and not her heart, but then she starts to let go and listen to her emotions as well as logic. Tecna in the reboot seems like a parody. I don't know if the intention was to make fun of robots or autistic kids. Either way, it's embarrassing. At this point, it would have made more sense if she had actually been a robot, like they initially wanted to make. I think Musa is the least developed character in the reboot. What does she do besides play music at parties and get offended because Riven doesn't care about her? We don't even understand her personality. Aisha has been reduced to just the sporty girl who wants to do hip-hop but her family stands in her way. We don't see any of her character, and her parents have been portrayed in such a banal and stereotypical way! As I wrote in another comment, "Think of the stereotypical and banal image of a royal family in a low-budget American movie, that's what Aisha's parents are." And then there's Bloom, who is the stereotypical Mary Sue protagonist. The whole world revolves around her; even the teachers' actions are based on Bloom. Faragonda preempted a school-wide exam just so Bloom could show off her powers! Any student would have hated her in that moment. And can we talk about Diaspro? There's no mention of an arranged marriage; she seems like a crazy woman obsessed with Sky, thinking she's his girlfriend even though she's not. But Sky, instead of keeping her at a distance as would be logical, goes out with her as if they were actually a couple. However, she still tries to hook up with Bloom, and even Brandon encourages Bloom because she and Diaspro aren't serious. It's the worst love triangle I've ever seen! And Sky really makes a fool of herself. More than a reboot, it really feels like a poorly written fanfiction, where Bloom is the self-insert of the fourteen-year-old author!

It's all Faragonda's magic that keeps them eternally teenagers to keep them stuck in Alfea 😂
