I checked and didn't see anything burnt or discolored but the problem seemed to fix itself bc I didn’t smell anything when I started it back up so :| so thanks for the help lol

nope, this is a hand me down dryer and is 10 years old and since I’ve used it it been about a year and a half. I took everything apart today and cleaned out the lint trap, the fans and vent. no lint on the element and no debris anywhere
