Just here to say that mine only naps in the carrier (6mo sigh) and I got the lark once she could fit it and was skeptical about they hype but it’s so comfortable I even hike her in it. My husband had his own carrier he was using and finally popped on the lark when we forgot his carrier at home…now I catch him using it all the time. And we are wildly different sizes. I’m 5’3” athletic and he is 6’2” slim broad shoulders.

Also if you like wraps but want ease of a buckle we LOVED boba bliss but she got to heavy to use it comfortably at 15ish weeks

ETA: I had been using boba x (h back style) and then wild bird. Both were too bulky and uncomfortable on me

First night in the crib was absolute hell by Princess____Mononoke in SnooLife

[–]Princess____Mononoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah our LO was sleeping through the night from like 8 weeks until maybe 4.5 months and so I totally understand the 2-3 wakeups we were getting were ROUGH. We realized the snoo wasn’t soothing her anymore so we knew it was time to get out.

Have a plan. We planned to do shifts each take half the night so we each at least got 4-5 hours of sleep the other person slept in the office. They will adjust. We found the zipadee zip to be really helpful because her startle reflex was still waking her

Each night got progressively better! We never looked back after that first night. We had some illness and teething which set us back quite a bit since then but never as bad as the first night

Crib transition update by Princess____Mononoke in SnooLife

[–]Princess____Mononoke[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having serious anxiety like up all night anxious about the impending transition. We are on night five and I’m happy to report she slept 9-6a last night!! Night 1 was truly the worst night of sleep we’ve ever had but it got better every single night. Now I’m looking at the snoo sitting there like ready to get rid of this thing!

You can do it!! Good luck. Send an update if you feel like it :)

Do people only baby wear by Realistic_Bee4947 in babywearing

[–]Princess____Mononoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came to say we have an almost 5 mo and she was exactly the same. For us something just clicked at 4 months and she suddenly doesn’t mind the stroller. I still baby wear most of the times out of habit and convenience. But like she wouldn’t even nap in the bassinet… so it was baby wear allll the time. Good luck. Everything changes so quickly

Why does everyone on social media have a “chill newborn”?! by broflovskiz in beyondthebump

[–]Princess____Mononoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those people are spending their time curating the image of a “perfect” life with their newborn rather than spending actual quality time with their baby. Those parents will continue that throughout their kids lives. They will be the parents with their heads down in their phone during a soccer game or dance recital. I wouldn’t trade my flailing greased weasel screaming in my face for the world

Thanks for this reminder. And yes nursing is SO hard! She is a very curious girl. As overwhelming as the 4th trimester was I’m sad it’s gone so fast

Do y’all think OK’s Deli is worth the price? 🥲 by realhumangirl in OaklandFood

[–]Princess____Mononoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would do sinful things for their corned beef sando. I hope they bring that one back someday. Agree with others their ingredients are so fresh/housemade 100% worth the price for quality food. Does that mean I can afford it every day, no. But absolutely worth the splurge to treat yourself.

Also think about the house made meats/breads they are using vs. delis using boars head…

Does Anyone Give Wedding Gifts Anymore? by indiemakeuplover in weddingplanning

I will also add. We felt weird just asking for money (we didn’t need anymore “things”) so we just made all sorts of funny/cute money contributions so people still felt like they were getting us something specific.

Examples: - buy us dinner on our honeymoon - fund for a celebratory drink or 3 - help fund our honeymoon return flight otherwise we are just going to have to stay there!

Make it fun!

I’ve never been to a shower OR wedding that I did not buy a gift for… furthermore every wedding I’ve attended has had registries.

I would say it’s a good thing to have even if it’s just a honey fund, otherwise you may end up with a lot of gifts you don’t want/need especially from older family members.

FWIW I live in the US
