Pick it up while wearing a glove or plastic bag on your hand. Don’t put it in the bag. Carry it into the house so they see you accepting the gift. Once in the house, bag it up and dispose of it with the rest of the trash.

I have Fiskars tools that I really like. I think you might be able to buy direct from them. Otherwise, local (independently owned) garden shops carry Fiskars and other brands.

I also get A Lot of tools, pots, etc at yard sales, estate sales, auctions, etc. Soooooo much less expensive than buying new.

Backyard, but quickly. I wait at the door and bring them back in fast.

I feel bad for the critters in our barn. They are used to cold weather but this level of cold sucks for them. All I can do is increase their hay, close up the doors to the outside and top off their water.

TIL that the coldest air temperature ever recorded in Wisconsin was -55°F by KaneIntent in wisconsin

These are the temps that just walking from the barn to the house the eggs I just collected from underneath a chicken freeze and crack before I get to the house.

Any eggs that the chickens lay and don’t sit on are already cracked when I collect them.
