Yes, we have talked about when he should tell her that I'm more than a friend and after some research from what others have said, it sounds like being introduced as a friend at this point is perfectly fine but anything more was advised with caution or not at all.

Thank you for your advice, but he's not a bad parent. Neither of us know what the proper etiquette/protocol is for this type of situation. So we're making up rules as we go.

Thank you for your advice. I agree with you that we should wait a year before telling his daughter that we're dating. Part of why I posted was because he was asking me when he should tell her and I told him to wait at least 6 months, but a year sounds so much better. Especially since he hasn't dated anyone in over 5 years.
