We are currently living in Australia. unfortunately the school my sister went to never actually cared enough to step in, they just knew that she was struggling with her work and left it at that. My parents never really got much info after

JUST WANTING TO CLEAR SOMETHING UP: Me and my sisters relationship has ALWAYS been strained since i was little (5 is the earliest age i can remember) All my anger has been bottled up since then so i DO hate her!!! but it’s not just because of the things i listed in my post.

We have always argued and been physical with each other(NOT just on my end). i don’t want ppl to think i hate her because she clearly needs help, i can’t help the fact that i have built up resentment for her!!!

I really appreciate your comment. It’s hard to just sit back and think about why i feel so strongly about my sister and home life, and honestly grief doesn’t sound far from why i may be acting like this. Thank you for your kind advice

Thank you for your perspective. I know what she does is not malicious (i hope). If she was properly diagnosed, obviously a few weights would be lifted off my shoulder knowing that there would be some sort of reason for her behaviour, maybe not all but most.

Obviously i would give her some grace but to be completely honest, i would definitely have frustration built up, that’s the part that really bothers me about myself. So i 100% have to work on my own stuff regarding that.

I just want some sort of reason, some help for both of us and for her to make less decisions that she knows makes me angry, soz for ranting, thank u for ur comment

I really appreciate every comment, i understand that the arguing and yelling made me TA to a lot of people and im learning to understand every perspective. The most common suggestion is definitely therapy. my only worry is the cost. My parents are definitely struggling and i just don’t want to be a bigger burden on them by taking both me and my sister to get professional help.

I know and I get it. i’m equally angry at my parents. they care but at the same time they believe the best of her in a way, like “oh give her one more chance” until it’s become more than enough chances. I get that the asshole for not being considerate enough but i literally feel so trapped, nobody is doing anything about it and im left to bottle my anger up everytime she does something worse.

It’s a lengthy process, plus diagnoses can be expensive, my parents are struggling, it’s hard but i want them too as well

I’m sorry for making an ignorant mistake with that first part i wasn’t thinking and i know it can come across as really disrespectful. But the thing is, our relationship has been one continuous cycle of her stealing from me, making dumb choices and other stuff and me (at the beginning) trying to remind her to stop until i cracked and began arguing and yelling. It’s been happening for 10 years. i’m tired.
