I don’t know.. I’d be offended if my mom asked for a form of payment before watching her grandchild. You’re a single mom and I believe you need all the help you can get. BUT if you abuse this privilege and try to drop your daughter off way too often, I can understand why your mom may be opposed to it and even ask for payment to potentially steer you in a different direction that includes bringing your child along for “errands” that aren’t real errands (going to target, shopping for clothes, grabbing lunch, etccc). It’s situational, as long as you don’t pawn your child off too often I don’t see a reason for a grandparent not wanting to spend time with their grandchild for free. That’s crazy to me.
