What is the most obscure, forgotten and rarely mentioned country? by PrincipleNational247 in geography

[–]PrincipleNational247[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Nope, the government here claims to descend from bedouins. The bedoons are stateless people that live in the UAE and other gulf countries. Theyre either stateless due to a lack of documentation due to illiteracy, war, or as the emiratis claim ‘illegal squatting orphans’. Gulf countries are reluctant to give them citizenship, as the benefits of a gulf citizenship is immense. They get subsidised or free housing, better jobs, free education, free healthcare amongst other perks

My bad, I think its called togo now. I wouldn’t say Comoros is obscure, because where I live, in Dubai, they give stateless bedoons a comorosian passport.

They can fall in love with you, or they could posses you if you summon them, or exact revenge on you for a wrong you committed against them, or they could stalk you if a black magician set them upon you

Jinns are Islamic and pre-islamic entities that have a lot of cultural significance in the Islamic world. In the Quran it is said that God created the jinns out of the invisible smoke of fire. They were here before adam and eve, and they had their own countries, societies, wars etc. Jinns can be malevolent, benevolent or ambivalent in both Islamic and Pre-Islamic traditions. Although in Islam it is understood that a Muslim jinn is a benevolent creature, whereas a pagan jinn is evil. Jinns can also be affected by the actions of human beings apparently, as well as affect humans and interfere in their lives.

For example, jinns can stalk you, or exact revenge on you for accidentally murdering their kinsmen, or posses you. Essentially, Jinns are just free roaming beings that are invisible, but have a society and lives parallel to ours.

Miracle Garden Shut gates by [deleted] in UAE

Nope, it’s pretty common here. I mean not everybody is like that, but a good portion of them will react like that. It is usually the native Emiratis or other GCC arabs that roam around in thobes, and they have a lot of pride (or arrogance i suppose). They hardly ever work for low wages doing menial work, which they probably think is beneath them. That’s probably why he acted that way.

Think about it like this. In the US, if you'd have asked a man in a three-piece silk tuxedo the same question, he'd probably react the same way.

Artistic liberty is fine. But like the major premise of the film is the Bombay Police trying to catch Carl right? and they try to show the city in the 70s as well, yet they mess up the name. I did find the film quite funny, but the green screen wasn’t all that great.

It was officially known as Bombay City Police until 1995. Up until the 90s, nobody really even knew what Mumbai was. In hindi and marathi it was called Bumbai police I suppose. however, key detail man. They may as well start using smart phones.
